Algerian parliamentary delegation visits Saharawi refugee camps

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Nov 27, 2014 (SPS) - Algerian parliamentary delegation on Thursday arrived in the Saharawi refugee camps, as part of a four-day visit of solidarity with the Saharawi people.


According to a statement disseminated by Saharawi Parliament, the Algerian delegation will participate at the celebrations marking the 39th anniversary of the establishment of the Saharawi National Council.


The two sides will organize a joint session in order to exchange ideas and experiences.

Moroccan authorities detain French activist

Marrakech (Morocco), Nov 27, 2014 (SPS) - Moroccan occupying authorities on Wednesday detained for two hours Ms. Joëlle Toutain, French activist and friend of the Saharawi people, at Marrakech Airport, said the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Diaspora.


The French national was intending to take part at the 2nd annual World Human Rights Forum, kicked off Thursday in the city of Marrakech, Morocco.

Brazzaville, Nov 26, 2014 (SPS) - Saharawi Republic (SADR) on Monday participated in First Ordinary Session of the AU Specialized Technical Committee on Public Service, Local Government, Urban Development and Decentralization, held at the conference palace in Brazzaville, capital of the Republic of Congo.


SADR was represented at this conference by Baba Omar Al-Bardi, first secretary at Saharawi embassy in Addis Ababa.

Campaign in Norway against continued occupation of Western Sahara by Morocco

Oslo, Nov 26, 2014 (SPS) - The Norwegian Student and Academics’ International Assistance Fund (SAIH) has decided to launch a year-long campaign to denounce illegal Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara.


The announcement was made yesterday, Tuesday, in a meeting between Polisario Front’s Representative in Oslo Dr. Limam Khalil and President of SAIH, Jørn Wichne Pedersen.

Boujdour (refugee camps), Nov 25, 2014 (SPS) - Work of the 7th conference of Saharawi Imams on Tuesday kicked off in the Wilaya of Boujdour, Saharawi refugee camps, under the theme “message and role of Mosques in social upbringing.”


The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Justice, Hamada Selma Daf, directors of religious affairs at the national and local levels, as well as Imams from all provinces and national institutions.

UJSARIO attends conference about youth in Thailand

The delegation comprised of Hamdi Yusuf, International Secretary of UJSARIO, and Senia Bachir Abderrahman, vice-president of the International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY).

Smara: peaceful vigils in solidarity with Saharawi inmates

Smara (occupied territories), Nov 25, 2014 (SPS) - The occupied city of Smara on Monday witnessed the organization of two peaceful vigils in solidarity with the Saharawi political prisoners languishing in Moroccan jails, said the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Diaspora.


During these vigils, participants raised Saharawi flags and chanted a number of slogans that call for the “immediate release” of all Saharawi political prisoners.

Condition of health of Saharawi political detainee deteriorated

Eit Melloul (Morocco), Nov 25, 2014 (SPS) - Condition of health of the Saharawi political prisoner, Lamjahid Mayara, has seriously deteriorated as a consequence of chest pains and fever he has been suffering since more than a week.


Faced with this situation, the administration of Eit Melloul Prison prevented the prisoner from having his right to medical treatment.

Moroccan authorities expel two American sympathizers with struggle of Saharawi people

 El Aaiun (occupied territories), November 24, 2014 (SPS) The Moroccan occupation authorities expelled Saturday, two American artists from El Aaiun on a visit to find out about the situation in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, according to Saharawi human rights source.

 

 The two artists, Tennessee Waston and Yeshe had meetings with Brahim Dahane, president of the ASVDH and El Ghalia Djimi, a member of the same association, on the violations of human rights committed against Saharawis by Morocco .

 

Sahrawi people determined to continue struggle until independence

Algiers, November 24, 2014 (SPS) - The Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) to Algiers, Ibrahim Ghali underlined Sunday in Algiers the determination of the Sahrawi people to continue their struggle against the Moroccan occupying forces until they snatch freedom and independence.

 

Speaking at Echaab Forum, Ghali said "the Sahrawi people are ready to make huge sacrifices and continue their struggle, but are still committed to the peaceful struggle to exercise their right to self-determination, freedom and independence."

 

Two Saharawi political prisoners suffer ill treatment in jails of Ait Melloul and Inzegan

El Aaiun (occupied territories), November 23, 2014 (SPS) - Saharawi political prisoners, Abdelmoutaleb Srir and Muhammad Baber, are subjected to ill-treatment by the prison administration in Ait Melloul Inzegan jails where they had been recently transferred from the “cacel negra” (black Jail) in El Aaiun, indicated Saharawi human rights source.
