SADR takes part in General Conference on Land-Use Policies in Africa

Addis Ababa, November 13, 2014 (SPS) - The Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) took part in the work of the General Conference in Africa on "systematic policies for the optimal use of land for the benefit and welfare of African citizens ", held in Addis Ababa on November 11-14.

 

 The conference will address several issues related to policies of Member States in the optimal use of land and take advantage of them for the citizens of the African Continent.

 

Sahrawi cause should be beside Palestinian cause at Arab-African Dialogue (Minister of Algerian youth)

Algiers, November 11, 2014 (SPS) - Algerian Minister of Youth Mr. Abdelkader Khomri affirmed Tuesday in Algeria that the Sahrawi cause should be the basis of Arab-African Dialogue beside the Palestinian cause.

 

The Algerian minister stressed during the Second International Congress on Arab-African Youth Dialogue that the Sahrawi cause is a fact that cannot be ignored.

 

Algerian TAJ partyreasserts support of Saharawi people right to self-determination

Algiers, November 11, 2014 (SPS) - Algerian Minister of Transportation and Leader of the Rally of Algerian Hope (TAJ) Amar Ghul reiterated Tuesday in Algiers his party's position in support of the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination, during his speech in the Second International Conference on African-Arab Youth Dialogue.

 

Mr. Ghul stressed that no true African Union, cooperation or prosperity without the decolonization of Western Sahara.

 

Saharawi political prisonersentenced to 4 years in prison for participating in peaceful demonstration

Agadir (southern Morocco), November 11, 2014 (SPS) -  Saharawi political prisoner, Ali Gach, was sentenced Monday to a long term of four years imprisonment by the court of Agadir, Morocco, for his participation in a peaceful demonstration calling for the right of the Saharawi people in Tan Tan (southern Morocco), reported the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Saharawi Community Abroad.

 

International community is called to be "more clear" on question of Western Sahara (Mohamed Sidati)

 Paris, November 11, 2014 (SPS) - The international community should make more effort and be more clear, especially in light of recent statements by the King of Morocco Mohamed VI, who ignored the international community and tramples the Security Council and the General Assembly resolutions for the decolonization of Western Sahara, said the Minister of State for Europe, Mohamed Sidati in a statement to RFI.

Moroccan king speech: Minister of Foreign Affairs denounces "suicidal" speech

Algiers, November 10, 2014 (SPS) -  Foreign Minister, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, renewed his condemnation of the speech that was delivered by King Mohammed VI, last Thursday, to mark the 39th anniversary of the military invasion of Western Sahara, describing it as "suicidal" and that "proves isolation of Morocco regionally and internationally."

 

Complete decolonization process in Western Sahara, necessity for our region, says Lamamra

Algiers, November 10, 2014 (SPS) – The urgent need to consolidate stability, peace and development are the focus of Algeria’s approach, Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra said Sunday in Algiers, underlining that the region needs the completion of Western Sahara decolonization process.

 

In this regard, "Algeria welcomes the new democratic achievement which is the recent legislative elections in Tunisia, of significant importance for the Maghreb countries and elsewhere," Lamamra said on the occasion of the celebration of United Nations Day.

Moroccan king's speech contrary to international legality, says Saharawi government

Shaheed Elhafed, November 8, 2014 (SPS) - The government of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) lambasted Friday the latest speech delivered by Moroccan King Mohamed VI, in which "he flouted international legality and seems to ignore international community's call to take action against Morocco's intransigence."

 

"The speech Morocco's king made Thursday to mark the 39th anniversary of the invasion of the Saharawi territories was intransigent, nervous and threatening," the Saharawi ministry of Information said in a statement.

 

UNHCR firmly committed to ensure protection for Saharawi refugees, says Guterres

Geneva, Nov 7, 2014 (SPS) - UN High Commissioner for Refugees, António Guterres, on Thursday expressed “strong commitment” to ensure protection for Saharawi refugees, in a meeting with a Saharawi delegation.


The UN official said that ensuring protection for Saharawi refugees is “a humanitarian duty and responsibility must be assumed by the UNHCR,” adding that he is keen to make better the situation of these refugees.
