Council of Ministers denounces Morocco’s blockade over occupied territories

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Dec 2, 2014 (SPS) - The Council of Ministers on Tuesday denounced the blockade imposed by Moroccan occupying state over the occupied territories of Western Sahara, deploring the policies of repression targeting the Saharawis.


In a statement issued at the of a meeting chaired by the President of the Republic Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, the Council deplored the fact that foreign journalists, observers and activists are being prevented access into occupied Western Sahara by Moroccan occupying state.

LO reiterates support to self-determination and independence of Saharawi people

Oslo, Dec 2, 2014 (SPS) - Deputy Chairman of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO), Tor Arne Solbakken, on Tuesday renewed support to the right to self-determination and independence for the Saharawi people, in a meeting with Polisario Front’s Representative in Oslo, Dr. Limam Khalil.


Saharawi diplomat informed his interlocutor about the developments on the national cause, particularly human rights violations and pillaging of natural resources in the occupied territories of Western Sahara by Morocco.

AARASD delegation on working visit to the Saharawi refugee camps

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Dec 2, 2014 (SPS) - A delegation of the French Association of Friends of SADR (AARASD) on Sunday arrived in the Saharawi refugee camps, as part of a working visit to assess the educational projects they fund.


The group will visit an educational center which trains future Saharawi teachers of French, established as part of an agreement signed in 2013 between the Saharawi Ministry of Education, Saharawi Association for the Promotion of Cultural Exchange with the French-speaking countries (ASPECF) and AARASD.

Moroccan authorities prevent elected French from visiting Saharawi prisoners

Sale (Morocco), Dec 2, 2014 (SPS) - Moroccan authorities on Monday prevented five elected French from Ivry-sur-Seine from visiting the Saharawi political prisoner, Naama Lasfari, and his colleagues, who are known as the group of Gdeim Izik detainees.


The delegation also aimed at visiting the Saharawi political prisoner, Mbarek Daoudi, on hunger strike since a month, and inquiring about the detention conditions of the Saharawi political prisoners, incarcerated in Moroccan prison of Sale 1.

Moroccan authorities start new war against Saharawi human rights activists

Assault against minor Saharawi in occupied city of Boujdour

 Boujdour (occupied territories), December 1, 2014 (SPS) - Saharawi minor, M'hamed Ahbibi, suffered Saturday a “violent” attack with knives in the occupied city of Boujdour perpetrated by Moroccan settlers recruited by Moroccan security services, after leaving his family home to school, reported a Saharawi human rights source.

 

 "The victim was transferred urgently to the hospital for first aid after the attack which caused several serious injuries in different parts of his body," the source added.

The investiture of the members of the National Council of Children coincides with the celebrations of the 39th anniversary of the establishment of the National Council.

 

 The members electeda president of the National Council of Children and presidents of the five committees of the Council.

 

President of Republic condemns terrorist attack in the Nigerian city of Kano

Italian Parliamentary delegation visits Saharawi Refugee Camps

Smara (Saharawi Refugee Camps), Dec 01, 2014, (SPS) – A delegation from the Italian Parliamentary Group for solidarity with the Saharawi people has embarked on Sunday morning, a visit to the Saharawi Refugee Camps.

 


The delegation includes members of the Italian senate and parliamentarians, has been received by the authorities of Smara. It also had a visit to some of the facilities and institution there.

 

Algeria's support to Western Sahara cause remains firm, constant

Honor of Pepe Taboada Vades, first founder of Saharawi people friends association

Madrid, November 30, 2014 (SPS) - The movement of solidarity with the Saharawi people paid Saturday tribute to Pepe Taboada Vades, the first founder of an association of friends of the Saharawi people in Spain, currently the president of the State Coordinator of Associations in Solidarity with the Sahara (CEAS-Sahara).

 

Taboada formed in 1976 the first association of friends of the Saharawi people and worked to expand the solidarity movement. He spent a lifetime serving the cause.

Amnesty International: Moroccan authorities must lift restrictions on human rights groups

London, November 28, 2014 (SPS) – Amnesty international emphasized that the Moroccan authorities must lift restrictions on human rights groups as World Human Rights Forum opens, in a statement Wednesday.

 

“Restrictions by the Moroccan authorities on human rights organizations including Amnesty International have continued unabated despite the upcoming World Human Rights Forum being organized in Marrakech on 27-30 November,” said the international organization of human rights in its statement.  

 

Sahrawi Prime Minister welcomes Algeria position regarding Saharawi cause

Shaheed Elhafed (Refugee Camp) - Saharawi Prime Minister Abdelkader Taleb Omar on Thursday welcomed in Shaheed Elhafed, the Sahrawi refugee camp, the consistent position of Algeria, its people and government, with regard to the just cause of Western Sahara.

 

During his meeting with an Algerian parliamentary delegation chaired by the representative of the Algerian community, Djamel Bouras, the Saharawi Premier stressed that the Saharawi government is proud of the unanimous support of the Algerian parliament to the Saharawi people and its just cause.

Sahrawi delegation partakes in AU Annual Humanitarian Conference

Nairobi (Kenya), November 28, 2014 (SPS) - A Sahrawi delegation is taking part in the Annual Humanitarian Conference of the African Union held November 27-29, in Nairobi, Kenya, alongside delegations of member states in addition to representatives of world humanitarian organizations.

 

The Sahrawi delegation includes Chairperson of Sahrawi Red Crescent Mr. Buhebainy Yahya, Ambassador to Ethiopia Mr. Lamine Baaly, and Ambassador to Kenya Mr. Bah Elmud.

 

MEPs support human rights organizations boycotting 2nd World Human Rights Forum in Marrakech

“We, the undersigned, stand by those human rights organisations that are boycotting the event, such as AMDH and the Moroccan League for Human Rights, and Sahrawi NGOs for human rights,” said the statement.
