Shaheed El Hafed (Refugee Camps), October 25, 2011 (SPS) - The National Union of Sahrawi Women condemned the abduction of the three international aid workers in the Sahrawi refugee camps,   Mr. Fernandez Coin Aino of Spanish nationality, member of the Association of Friendship with the Saharawi people in Extremadura (Spain), Enrico Gonyalons, a Spanish citizen and member of the Spanish NGO Mundubat and Rossella Urru from Italy, member of the Italian NGO CCISPP, in a statement Monday.

 

Australian NGO denounces terrorist attack on Saharawi refugee camps

Canberra (Australia), October 25, 2011 (SPS) - The Australia Western Sahara Association (AWSA) has condemned the terrorist attack on the Saharawi refugee camps that resulted in international aid workers being injured and kidnapped, in a statement Monday.

 

AWSA expressed its deepest sympathy for victims and their families and solidarity with the Saharawi people.

The Organization also expressed hope to see these hostages released immediately and a proper investigation so justice can be done and the motivation behind the attack exposed.

Montevideo (Uruguay), Oct 24, 2011 (SPS) - The Ambassador of the Saharawi Republic to Uruguay, Mr. Chaibani Abbas, and the Mayor of Paysandú’s Uruguayan city, Mr. Bertil Bentos Scanegatti, have signed a twining agreement on the social and cultural cooperation between the Wilaya of Smara and Municipality of Paysandú, according to a statement of SADR Embassy to Uruguay.

The twining includes an exchange in the areas of education, public health, culture, sport, medical care and environment, the same source added.

Thousands of Moroccans call for boycott of November 25 polls

Rabat, Oct 24, 2011 (SPS) - Thousands of Moroccans demonstrated Sunday in cities across the country calling for a boycott of early parliamentary polls to be held next November 25, while others has been subjected to violence, Reuters reported.

In the capital Rabat, a Reuter’s reporter saw dozens of riot police with truncheons beating and kicking protesters who had gathered in front of the parliament building at the end of a march by around 3,000 people.

Shaheed Al Hafed (Saharawi refugee camps), Oct 23, 2011 (SPS) - The Director of the Institution protection, Mr. Mohamed Alwali Akeik, told Sunday SPS “all the necessary measures have been taken by the Polisario Front to liberate the 3 members of the European NGOs, who was kidnapped Saturday night to Sunday in the Saharawi refugee camps.”

“The Saharawi security forces are pursuing the abductors, whose identity yet to be identified,” said Mr. Mohamed Alwali Akeik, adding “the Polisario Front has taken all measures to ensure safety of the three hostages.”

Shaheed Al Hafed (Saharawi refugee camps), Oct 23, 2011 (SPS) - The Saharawi authorities have reinforced security around the central reception of the foreign aid workers in the Saharawi refugee camps, following the kidnapping by terrorists of two Spaniards and an Italian working in the humanitarian field in the Camps.

In a press statement, Ms. Bárbara Magdalena, cooperator of the Movement for Peace (MPDL), condemned this crime and emphasized that although she is concerned for fate of her seized friends “the current situation is full of calm and security.”

Copenhagen, Oct 23, 2011 (SPS) - The Danish People’s Movement against the EU has noted that with regard to the Western Sahara “it's not just in relation to these countries that the EU puts its own interests over principles of human rights, international law and peace,” pointing out to 2011 extension of fisheries agreements with Morocco.

In a dispatch published Saturday on some Danish websites, the People's Movement explained that Denmark actively fought against this fisheries agreement, reaffirming it “will continue to focus on Western Sahara.”
