Smara (Occupied Territories) November 10, 2010 (SPS) - The occupied city of Smara witnessed Tuesday night violent clashes between Sahrawi demonstrators and Moroccan police forces, after this latter tried disperse a peacefully stand organized by the Intifada youth on the occasion of first anniversary of the storming of the camp of Gdeim Isik by the Moroccan army November 8, 2010.

Smara (Occupied Territories) November 11, 2011 (SPS) - the Moroccan authorities of occupation attacked Tuesday night Sahrawi minor Dihan Belah Bouhali and beaten him up, following the breakup of activities of the Intifada in the occupied city of Smara demanding the right of the Saharawi people to freedom and independence, according to  the Ministry of the Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.

 

SADR commemorates first anniversary of dismantling camp of Gdeim Isik

Smara (Refugee Camps) November 10, 2011 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Republic (SADR) commemorated Wednesday in the Wilaya of  Smara, Sahrawi refugee camps, the first anniversary of the dismantlement  of the Sahrawi protest camp of Gdeim Isik by the Moroccan troops of occupation, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, and members of the government and parliament.

Son of Sahrawi human rights defender Aminatou Haidar threatened with rape

El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), November 8, 2011 (SPS) – The son of Sahrawi human rights defender Aminatou Haidar, minor Mohammed Al Qasimi, 15, was subjected October 29, to threats with rape and suffering a permanent disability by two Moroccan policemen near his family's home in Al Kudos neighborhood in the occupied city of El Aaiun, according to a statement of the Collective of Sahrawi Human rights Defenders (CODESA).

 

Slovenian Organizations sign resolution calling on their country to firmer defending the right of Western Sahara people to self-determination

Rome, Nov 7, 2011 (SPS) - A group of Italian NGOs, friends of the Saharawi people, have commemorated Monday and Tuesday, in Bologna (Emilia Romagna), the first anniversary of the dismantlement of the Gdeim Izik dignity camp (near El Aaiun) by Moroccan occupation forces, according to the Saharawi representation in Rome, quoted by the APS.

El Aaiun ( Saharawi Refugee Camps) Nov 06, 2011(SPS)- The Imam of mosque of El Aaiun, Mami ould Lakhlil underlined at the sermon of Eïd al-Adha prayer, that harassment and repression contradict with the values of Isalm, considering that “Gdeim Izik crime” reflected  the will of the Moroccan authorities of occupation to annihilate the Saharawi people.

 

The Imam of Eïd al-Adha prayer strongly condemned the abduction of the three European aid workers by a terrorist group, describing the attack as "immoral".

SADR partakes in 18th Africa Upstream Conference

Cape town, Nov, 05 , 2011 (SPS)- A Saharawi delegation headed the Polisario Front representative in  Australia,  Kamal Fadel, took part  in the 18th Africa Upstream Conference on Oil and Gas held on 31st October to 4 November 2011 in Cape Town.

 

The conference was an occasion for the Saharawi offical to meet the participants and explain the steps the SADR has been undertaking in the oil and gas sectors.

 

Ross visits capitals of Group of Friends of Western Sahara

Madrid, Nov  5, 2011 (SPS)- The Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Western Sahara, Christopher Ross, held meeting Friday in Madrid, with the Spanish Secretary of State for Foreign and Latin American affairs, Juan Antonio Yanez, as part of a tour would lead him to capitals of Group of Friends of Western Sahara (USA, France, Russia, Spain, United Kingdom), to "release" the negotiations process between the Polisario Front and Morocco, the Spanish news agency, EFE reported.

 

Minister of Cooperation concludes working visit to Province of Extremadura

Madrid, Nov 5, 2011 (SPS) - The Minister of Cooperation, Mr. Salek Baba Hasana, concluded Thursday a working visit to the Spanish province of Extremadura, where he meet heads of municipalities and associations supporting the Saharawi people, as reported by the Polisario Front representation in Extremadura.

Mr. Salek Baba Hasana visited several government places and met high-level figures, including Mr. José Antonio Monago, president of the Regional Government, accompanied by Chargee of Agriculture sector.

Italian NGOs and Municipalities condemns the abduction of European aid workers

Rome, Nov 5, 2011 (SPS) - Italian NGOs and Municipalities have condemned the kidnapping of three European cooperators in the humanitarian field by a terrorist group in the Saharawi refugee camps, near Tindouf, as reported Thursday in Rome.

The Local Coordination of Solidarity with the Saharawi people in the Municipality of Sesto San Giovanni (Milan) expressed its strong condemnation to the terrorist attack which resulted in the abduction of 3 cooperators on the humanitarian field in the Saharawi refugee camps.

Seville (Spain), Nov 5, 2011 (SPS) - “The EU cannot bear the responsibilities on the question of Western Sahara, unless Spain assumes its legal and historic responsibilities towards its old colonies,” stated Member of the European Parliament, Mr. Willy Meyer.

“We must put an end the current situation of the EU after it found itself out of the only stuck issue in the African continent, which is about decolonization,” Mr. Meyer told Spain News Agency (EFE) following a ceremony held outside the Moroccan Consulate in Seville.
