Russian Anti-globalization Movement reaffirms support to Saharawi struggle

Moscow, May 1, 2015 (SPS) - The Anti-globalization Movement of Russia on Thursday expressed solidarity with just struggle of the Saharawi people, said its President Alexander Lonov, during a meeting with the Polisario Front’s Representative to Russia Dr. Ali Salem Mohamed Fadel.


Mr. Lonov voiced his full solidarity with the just struggle of the Saharawi people, praising their determination to continue the fight until victory and independence are obtained.

Western Sahara: PSC regrets UN Security Council did not respond to AU request

Moroccan forces intervene violently against Saharawi citizens in occupied Smara

Smara (refugee camps), April 30, 2015 (SPS) - Moroccan occupying forces on Thursday morning intervened violently against a group of Saharawi citizens in the occupied city of Smara, leaving some casualties.


Saharawi female citizen Fatma Bouasriya, who are pregnant, and the human rights activist Hamma Mbarek held a sit-in in a place called Al-Kayz, outside the occupied Saharawi city of Smara, before being attacked violently by Moroccan forces of occupation.

Lima, April 30, 2015 (SPS) - Peruvian Council of Solidarity with the Sahrawi People (COPESA in Spanish) welcomed, Wednesday, the renewal for a year of the mandate of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), dubbing this decision a “clear answer” to the Moroccan occupation which requested, behind the scenes, the cessation of this mission in the occupied territories.

Moroccan occupying authorities postpone trial of Saharawi political detainees

El Aaiun (occupied territories), April 29, 2015 (SPS) - Moroccan court of occupation in the city of El Aaiun, capital of the occupied Western Sahara, on Wednesday postponed until 30 June 2015 the trial of six Saharawi political prisoners, now in temporary release status.


The detainees are: Mohamed Ali Saadi, Yusef Buzeid, Mohamed Karnit, Yasin Sidati, Aziz Hramch and Hafed Toubali.

Dajla (refugee camps), April 29, 2015 (SPS) - The local festival of culture and folk arts on Wednesday morning kicked off in the province of Dajla, Saharawi refugee camps, in parallel with FiSahara festival, to open this evening.


The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Abdelkader Taleb Omar, Culture Minister Khadija Hamdi, members of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front and Saharawi Government, in addition to the delegations attending FiSahara 2015.

Minister of Culture receives the South African and Algerian delegation to FISAHARA

Chahid Al-Hafed, 28/04/2015 (SPS)- The Minister of Culture, Prof. JadiyaHamdi, received yesterday the delegations of Algeria and South Africa attrending the Western Sahara International Film Festival-FISAHARA.

 

Minister JadiyaHamdi hosted a Lunch in honor of the two delegations and welcomed them for their support and solidarity. “Algeria and South Africa are brother and allies, and without their presence and participation the cultural events would be meaningless”, she said.

 

Algeria “satisfied” with UN’s commitment to just settlement of Western Sahara conflict

Algiers, April 28, 2015 (SPS) - Algeria said, through the voice of the spokesman of its Foreign Affairs Ministry Abdelaziz Benali Cherif, is satisfied the UN’s commitment, in the Security Council Resolution 2218, to a political just, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution which provides for the auto-determination of the people of Western Sahara in accordance with principles and objectives of the United Nations Charter and resolutions of the General Assembly, the Security Council and the universal Decolonization doctrine.
