Oslo, Dec 2, 2014 (SPS) - Deputy Chairman of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO), Tor Arne Solbakken, on Tuesday renewed support to the right to self-determination and independence for the Saharawi people, in a meeting with Polisario Front’s Representative in Oslo, Dr. Limam Khalil.
Saharawi diplomat informed his interlocutor about the developments on the national cause, particularly human rights violations and pillaging of natural resources in the occupied territories of Western Sahara by Morocco.
In its last congress held on March 2013, Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions approved a motion calling upon the Norwegian Government to play a leading role in favour of the right to self-determination and independence of the Saharawi people. (SPS)
