Friends of Saharawi people in Belgium stages outside embassy of Morocco

Brussels, June 10, 2012 (SPS) - Friends of the Saharawi people in Belgium have organized a demonstration in solidarity with the Saharawi political prisoners of Sale’s jail and with Lafgir Kaziza, who entered his 10 day of hunger strike, in front of embassy of Morocco.


The demonstrators demanded that Moroccan state halt its violations of human rights in the occupied part of Western Sahara, as to release all the Saharawi political detainees without delay.

Rabat, June 10, 2012 (SPS) - Twenty-three Sahrawi political prisoners incarcerated in the Moroccan jail of Sale, near Rabat, since the dismantling of Gdeim Izik protest camp by the Moroccan forces 8 November 2010, continue since Friday their alarming hunger strike to confirm their demands, according to a source close to their families.

Madrid (Spain) June06,2012(SPS)  – Socialist International Mediterranean Committee reiterated its support for the rights of Sahrawi people to self-determination, in a final statement adopted at the end of a meeting held Tuesday in Madrid at Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) headquarters.

 

The Mediterranean Committee “urges Morocco and Polisario Front to carry on negotiations for a peaceful and lasting solution to the conflict under the auspices of the United Nations (UN).

Bir Lehlu (liberated territories) , June06, 2012 (SPS). - President of the Republic and  Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, , has called on  the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon to intervene to respond to  the legitimate demands of the family of the young Saharawi Said Dambar, assassinated  on December 22, 2010, by a Moroccan policeman  and buried by the occupation authorities without its   permission.

El Ayoune (occupied territories)June05,2012(SPS) the Moroccan occupation  authorities in the  occupied city of El Ayoune, Monday, had buried the body of the Saharawi youth, Said Dambar, who has shot and died  by Moroccan policeman in dicember2010 and  since that  his family refused to  receive  and bury his body until  hold an  independence investigation about his assassination.

Australia will ask Morocco to cooperate with Ross and supports human rights

Quito, June 05, 2012 (SPS) - A Saharawi delegation led by Minister for Americas took part at the regional Pacific seminar on decolonization organized by Special Committee on Decolonization from May 30 to 1 in Quito, Ecuador.

 

Speaking at the seminar, Member of National Secretariat of the Polisario Front- Minister for Latin America, Mohamed Yeslem Beissat has condemned the Moroccan occupation policy based on violating human rights, conspiracy and blocking the UN efforts.

 

Sahrawi national football team arrives in Kurdistan to take part at at VIVA World Cup 2012

Erbil (Iraqi Kurdistan), June 03, 2012 SPS)The Saharawi national football team on Sunday has arrived in Arbil, Iraqi Kurdistan to take part at VIVA World Cup 2012, an international tournament for football open to non-FIFA-affiliated teams, a source close to the team told SPS.

 

The Saharawi national team received by the President of Non-FIFA Board, Christian Michelis as well as  Kurdish authorities.

Heslsinki, June, 2012 (SPS) - the Album “Al Aaiun Agdat” (El Aaiun on Fire) by Saharawi singer Mariem Hassan has won the Best Album at the World village Festival took place recently in the Finish capital Helsinki, according to statement of Ministry of Culture released today.

 

Speaking to media, Mariem Hassan stressed the importance of the song to transmit the voice of the Saharawi people.

 

She dedicated her album to the Saharawi population in occupied territories and South of Morocco. (SPS)

More than 5000 Saharawi children spend summer holiday with Spanish families

Madrid, June 3, 2012 (SPS) - A total of 5500 Saharawi children will spend their summer holidays with Spanish hosts families, as reported “Europa Press”.

 

The program is managed by the Spanish associations of friends of the Saharawi people in collaboration with the Saharawi delegation to Spain and its branches in the regions.

 

According to the program, the first group will leave to Spain in mid-June. The children are accompanied by 239 Saharawi supervisors.

1,500 Saharawi children spend their holydays in summer camps in Algeria

Algiers, June, 2, 2012 (SPS) - A total of 1,500 Sahrawi children will their vacation in summer camps in Algeria  from June 20 to July 20, announced on Thursday President of the Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with the Saharawi People (CNASPS), Mehrez Lamari.

 

Spanish humanitarian aid to the Saharawi refugees has decreased alarmingly, warns Hach Ahmed

Zamora (Spain), June 2, 2012 (SPS) - Minister of Cooperation, Hach Ahmed, has warned of the effects of lack of humanitarian aid provided to the Saharawi refugees particularly the Spanish assistance, in interview with the Spanish news agency Efe published on Thursday.

 

 Minister of Cooperation who was in working visit to Spain, said the humanitarian assistance provided by Spain to the Saharawi refugees has been reduced by 50 percent due to the international economic crises .
