Chilean MPs call on their government to recognize SADR

Santiago, June 02, 2012 (SPS) -The Vice President of the Chilean Senate, Senator Alejandro Navarro, has called on his government to recognize the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) , is his intervention at a seminar on Chilean foreign policy and its commitment towards the Saharawi People.

The seminar, took place at the Chilean Senate headquarters, attended by numerous of diplomatic corps accredited in Santiago, parliamentarians, civil society and academics, according to press release of Chilean association in solidarity to with Saharawi people reached SPS on Friday.

 

During the meetings, ambassadors and diplomats expressed hope to promote bonds of relations between Saharawi Republic and Chile.

 

They underlined that recognition of SADR is a dept on Chile and the international community, pointing out that this decision must be made through the same channels and reasons that led to the State of Chile to recognize the Palestinian state.

 

For his part, Saharawi Ambassador in charge of Mission in Chile, Mr. Mohamed Larosi, thanked the Vice President of the Chilean Senate and the participants at the seminar, applauding the rule of parliamentarians, civil society and academics for endorsing the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence.(SPS)
