1,500 Saharawi children spend their holydays in summer camps in Algeria

Algiers, June, 2, 2012 (SPS) - A total of 1,500 Sahrawi children will their vacation in summer camps in Algeria  from June 20 to July 20, announced on Thursday President of the Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with the Saharawi People (CNASPS), Mehrez Lamari.

 

in solidarity meeting with Saharawi children held on the eve of the celebration of World Children's Day on June 1,  Mr Lamari has indicated that " 1,500 will be hosted including 100 disabled”, revealing that Humanitarian convoy consists of  medicines, clothes and feeding will be send, in coordination with the Algerian Red Croissant,   to the refugee camps on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

 

The Algerian official underlined that the meeting reflects Algeria’s commitment to endorse the right of people to self-determination, pointing to the suffering of Saharawi children in refugee camps and occupied territories.

 

For his part, Saharawi Ambassador to Algeria, Ibrahim Ghali, has expressed his hope that the Saharawi children "celebrate this occasion in their free and independent land".

 

The meeting also attended by South Africa Ambassador, representatives of the Algerian Red Croissant, International Committee of Red Cross, Saharawi Red Croissant and  international organizations who expressed their solidarity with right of the Saharawi people to self-determination.(SPS)
