President of Timor- Leste confirms commitment of his country to strengthen bilateral relations with SADR

 Dili, May 23, 2012 (SPS) the new elected President of Timor-Leste, Mr. Taur Matan Ruak, confirmed commitment of his country for strengthening bilateral relations with the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) during a meeting in Dili with Saharawi delegation lead by, Mr. Bachir Mustapha Sayad, the Minister of state and counselor to the President, Mohamed Abdelaziz, says a  statement from  the Saharawi embassy in East –Timor.
 

Saharawi students in Moroccan universities commemorate 7th anniversary of Intifada of Independence

Agadir (Morocco), May 22, 2012 (SPS) - The Saharawi students in Moroccan university of Agadir, organized on Monday a mass rally to commemorate the 7th anniversary of Intifada of Independence, according to statement of Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.


The Saharawi students raised slogans stressing the need for the national unity and to increase the Intifada of Independence.


They called for the immediate release of all Saharawi political prisoners including the students’ detainees. (SPS)

FRETLIN reaffirms firm support to Saharawi cause

Venezuela affirms support to right of Sahrawi people to independence

Caracas, May 17, 2012 (SPS)- The Director-General of the Office of Integration and Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Rubén Dario Molina has reaffirmed his country's support to the Sahrawi people's struggle for self determination and independence, said Thursday statement of  the Saharawi Embassy in Caracas.


"Venezuela for the just cause of the Saharawi people in their struggle to defend their national rights," Molina said during a meeting with Ambassador of the Saharawi Republic, Emboirik Ahmed.

President of East Timor grants Order of Merit to Saharawi ambassador

Dili, May 17, 2012 (SPS) - President of East Timor, José Ramos-Horta, on Wednesday awarded the Order of Merit to the Saharawi Ambassador, Mohammed Salameh Baddi, expressing his country's firm support for the struggle of the Saharawi people to freedom and independence.

 

The award confirms the historical bonds of friendship between the brotherly people of Timor leste and Saharawi Republic, said statement of Saharawi Embassy to Dili.

Havana, May 16, 2012 (SPS) - Member of National Secretariat, Secretary General of Saharawi student’s Union, Ahmed Lehbib held meeting on Tuesday with Director of North Africa and Middle East at Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs a long with his assistants, according to statement of UESARIO.


During the meeting which took place at the headquarters of Communist Party in Havana, The Cuban official reaffirmed his country’s firm position towards the struggle of the Saharawi people and all just causes.

Slovenia supports a negotiated settlement to Western Sahara conflict

Liubliana, May, 2012 (SPS) - The Foreign Minister of Slovenia, Karl Erjavec, has reaffirmed his country's support for a negotiated solution to the conflict in Western Sahara, during a meeting of the Committee on Foreign Affairs at the Slovenian Parliament held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 .


"Concerning Western Sahara, I have to say that Slovenia has not changed its position and supports the negotiation process on the future of Western Sahara, under the auspices of the United Nations," said Karl Erjavec.
