Algerian delegation to meet in New York US movement for solidarity with Saharawis

Algiers, Nov 19, 2013 (SPS) - A delegation of the National Algerian Committee for Solidarity with Saharawi people (CNASPS), led by its chairman, Mahrez Lamari, is to visit to the United States for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the death of President Kennedy, will meet in New York US members of the movement for solidarity with the Saharawi people, a committee’s statement said Tuesday.
 

Fourth gathering of young Saharawi woman’s organization

Boujdour (refugee camps), Nov 19, 2013 (SPS) - The 4th gathering of the organization of young Saharawi woman kicked off Tuesday at headquarters of the Saharawi Women Union in the Wilaya of Boujdour, Saharawi refugee camps.


Held under the banner "strengthening the tool to meet the challenges", the meeting examined the regulations and rules as well as drew future trends of the Organization.

Polisario Front denounces Morocco’s intransigent positions

PCB for right of Saharawi people to freedom and independence

Sao Paulo (Brazil), Nov 19, 2013 (SPS) - The Communist Party of Brazil (Portuguese acronym; PCB) has reiterated its support to the right of the Saharawi people to freedom and independence, at the closing ceremony of its 13th congress, held in Sao Paulo from 14 to 16 November 2013 under the banner "Advancement for Change", said a Saharawi diplomatic source.


The Brazilian party reiterated its resolve to advocate for the Saharawi cause on the international diplomatic foras, particularly in Latin America.

Polisario Front takes part at SPD’s congress

Leipzig (Germany), Nov 19, 2013 (SPS) - Polisario Front’s Representative Mr. Mamoun Ahmed Brahim participated at the congress of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (German acronym; SPD), took place from 14 to 16 November 2013 in the city of Leipzig.


On the sidelines of the congress, Saharawi representative met a number of SPD’s personalities, as well as foreign delegations, ambassadors and diplomats attended this congress.


This congress held following the recent parliamentary election.

Norway must act to prevent EP from approving fishing pact with Morocco, says FO

Oslo, Nov 19, 2013 (SPS) - The Norwegian Union of Social Educators and Social Workers (FO) urged its country to move towards its allies in Europe in order to prevent the European Parliament (EP) from ratifying the fisheries pact with Morocco, because it includes the territorial waters of Western Sahara.

Prophet David (Peace Be Upon Him), subject of 8th forum of Religions' Dialogue for Peace

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Nov 18, 2013 (SPS) - The Eighth Forum of the Religions’ Dialogue for Peace will kick off Sunday, November 24th, in the Wilaya of Boujdour, Saharawi refugee camps, according to the organizers.


This forum is jointly organized by the Saharawi Youth Union (UJSARIO) and U.S. Organization “Not Forgotten International”.


This year’s edition will be held under the title: “Biography of the Prophet David (Peace Be Upon Him) in the Holy Books.”

Peaceful march in occupied city of El Aaiun

El Aaiun (occupied territories), Nov 18, 2013 (SPS) - A peaceful march was organized Sunday evening in the occupied city of El Aaiun, capital of Western Sahara, by Gdeim Izik Coordination to denounce the pillaging of the Saharawi natural resources and call for the independence of Western Sahara, said a source of the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Diaspora.


This peaceful march started from Skeikima Street in El Aaiun and ended at Lahouham Mosque, said the source.

EUCOCO launches international campaign against Moroccan wall in Western Sahara

Algiers, Nov 17, 2013 (SPS) - Chairman of the Algerian National Consultative Commission for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights (CNCPPDH), Farouk Ksentini, described Sunday as "unjustified" and " inappropriate" the election of Morocco to the Council of human Rights of the United Nations (UN).


"The election of Morocco to the UN Council of Human Rights is completely unjustified and totally inappropriate," said Mr. Ksentini, who was guest of the channel three of Algerian Radio.

EUCOCO 38th pays tribute to great advocate for Saharawi cause

Rome, Nov 16, 2013 (SPS) - A tribute was paid Saturday night in Rome to the Italian activist and advocate for the Saharawi cause, Marissa Rodana, by the participants of the 38th EUCOCO International Conference of Support for the Saharawi people, held Friday and Saturday.


At the end of the conference, the President of the EUCOCO Mr. Pierre Galand presented a bouquet of flowers to Ms. Rodana, 92 years.
