Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Nov 19, 2013 (SPS) - “Morocco is trying, whatever it costs him, to cut the close relationships between the Polisario Front and Saharawi people,” said Mr. Mohamed El-Ouali Akeik, Saharawi Minister of Occupied Territories and Diaspora.

“Morocco is trying, whatever it cost him, to cut the strong relationship between the Polisario Front and Sahrawi people and pursues other non-military methods he typically prefer to force the Saharawi people, who demand their right to independence and dignity, to give in,” said the Saharawi minister, in an interview with APS.

He, in this regard, said that Moroccan police resorts to different forms of repression of the individual and collective freedoms, such as preventing the Saharawis from demanding peacefully and freely their right to self-determination.

“Violation of human rights in the occupied Western Sahara is no longer a secret,” said Mr. Akeik, adding that Morocco has always been criticized in the reports of international human rights organizations and associations of solidarity with the Saharawi people.

He also underlined that the Saharawis in the occupied territories are subject to various forms of discrimination, including mainly their right to education, medical treatment and work. (SPS)
