Algerian delegation to meet in New York US movement for solidarity with Saharawis

Algiers, Nov 19, 2013 (SPS) - A delegation of the National Algerian Committee for Solidarity with Saharawi people (CNASPS), led by its chairman, Mahrez Lamari, is to visit to the United States for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the death of President Kennedy, will meet in New York US members of the movement for solidarity with the Saharawi people, a committee’s statement said Tuesday.
 

The CNASPS has been invited by John F. Kennedy Foundation to attend the commemoration events and take part in the special forum on the achievements and heritage of President John F. Kennedy, according to the source.
 

The Algerian delegation will also meet the members of the Algerian community in Boston and New York, the source added.
 

In addition to its president, the delegation is made up of the deputy chairman of the union of African cities, towns and local governments (CGLUA), Tayeb Zitouni, former athletic Olympic champion Hassiba Boulmerka, the secretary general of the National Union of Algerian Women, Nouria Hafsi, and the jurist and member of the African commission of human and people’s rights, Maya Sahli.
