UJSARIO refutes its withdrawal from IUSY Council

Tamanrasset: Caravan of humanitarian aid sets off to Saharawi refugees

Tamanrasset (Algeria), May 12, 2013 (SPS) - A caravan of humanitarian aid for the benefit of Saharawi refugees set off Sunday from the Wilaya of Tamanrasset, Algeria, towards the Saharawi refugee camps in Tindouf, informed the local committee of Algerian Red Crescent.


This caravan carries more than 30 tons of food commodities (semolina, sugar, oil, pasta, water, etc) and over 950 blankets, which are contributions of institutions and local authorities, said the chairman of CRA’s local committee Mr. Moulay Sheikh.

LO in favour of self-determination of Saharawi people

Oslo, May 12, 2013 (SPS) - The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (Norwegian acronym; LO) has called for enabling the Saharawi people of his right to self-determination, urging the government of its country to play its leading role in this direction.


In a motion adopted at its 33th congress, held from 3th to 7th May 2013 in Oslo, the Confederation denounced the exploitation of Saharawi natural resources by Morocco.


It should be noted that LO is the largest and most influential trade union in Norway.

Cuban President felicitates Saharawi counterpart on POLISARIO 40th anniversary

Kingdom of Lesotho supports Saharawi’s people right to freedom and independence (communiqué)

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), May 12, 2013 (SPS) - The Ministerial delegation of the Kingdom of Lesotho, visited the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic from 9 to 10 May 2013, expressed “full support” to the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence.


In a joint communiqué signed with the SADR, Lesotho delegation “strongly” condemned the continued occupation of some parts of the Saharawi territories by Morocco, and the continued violations of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.

PSOE condemns Moroccan human rights violations in occupied Western Sahara

Boujdour (refugee camps), May 11, 2013 (SPS) - The Director of International Relations at the Spanish Socialist Party (PSOE), José Antonio, condemned Friday the Moroccan violations of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.


Concerning the trial of Gdeim Izik prisoners, he said, in a statement to SPS, “We have condemned this trial and have stated publicly that it is an unfair and that the Saharawi people enjoy his right to self-determination.”

Drug trafficking: Morocco poisons its neighbors

Madrid, May 11, 2013 (SPS) - Spanish police announced Friday, May 10, the dismantling of a network of money laundering drug which consists of six Moroccan, who bring hashish into Spain in double-bottom trucks to be sold in Europe.


This trade brings about 500.000 Euros every week. The drug money was delivered to a Chinese organization in exchange for clothes, luxury watches and other goods were shipped to be sold in Morocco.

Sahrawi President underlines "failure" of Morocco's policy of fear

AL-AYUN (Sahrawi refugee camp), May 10, 2013 (SPS)- Secretary General of Polisario Front and President of Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) Mohamed Abdelaziz said Friday in Al Ayun that "the policy of fear and terror" adopted by the Moroccan State against the Sahrawi people "has failed" adding that this period "is over."

40th anniversary of Polisario Front creation: Official festivities kick off in Sahrawi refugee camps

Al-AYUN (Sahrawi refugee camp),May 10, 2013 (SPS)- The festivities marking the 40th anniversary of the creation of Polisario Front, which has been struggling against the Moroccan occupation since 1975, kicked off Friday morning in Al Ayun (Sahrawi refugee camp near Tindouf)

The two-day event has been marked this year by the presence of many delegations, representatives of organizations and political parties, and a number of figures and diplomats from several countries around the world, in addition to journalists.
