Tifariti (liberated territories), May 19, 2013 (SPS) - The Saharawi people will celebrate tomorrow, May 20th, in the liberated town of Tifariti the 40th anniversary of the outbreak of armed struggle against the occupation, in the presence of national and foreign figures, after commemorating on May 10th the 40th anniversary of the creation of the Polisario Front (10 May 1973).

CIHRS: Western Sahara is open field for wide-range Moroccan violations against Saharawi activists

Cairo, May 18, 2013 (SPS) - Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies (CIHRS) said that Western Sahara has remained an open field for wide-range violations by Morocco against political and human rights activists of the Western Sahara, who call for the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination, highlighting that Saharawi rights activists continued to face arbitrary arrest, physical attacks and unfair trials.

Mhamed Khaddad on working visit to Germany

Berlin, May 18, 2013 (SPS) - Mr. Mhamed Khadad, member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front and coordinator with MINURSO, has made a working visit to Germany in the period between May 14 and 17, where he met officials at German Foreign Ministry and some political forces, according to a Saharawi official source.

AI calls for investigation into torture of 6 Saharawi activists

London, May 17, 2013 (SPS) - Amnesty International has called, in a news-story published Thursday on its website, upon the Moroccan authorities to “immediately launch a full, independent and impartial investigation” into the torture of six Sahrawi activists, 17-year old El Hussein Bah, were tortured in police custody in Western Sahara.

Boujdour (Saharawi refugee camps), 14 May, 2013 (SPS) - National Union of Sahrawi Women and the National Union of Algerian women have signed Monday, in boujdour, 5 twinning treaties, as the embodiment of the treaties and recommendations made during the international symposium to support the resistance of Sahrawi women lasting from 18 to 21 April, in the Sahrawi refugee camps and Algeria.

Moroccan Authorities expel an Italian journalist from occupied El Aaiún

El Aaiún, May 14, 2013(SPS)- The Moroccan occupying authorities expelled last Sunday, an Italian journalist from the occupied city of El Aaiún after his arrival  on a plane coming from Rome via Casablanca, according to official  Sources from the occupied city
