AL-AYUN (Sahrawi refugee camp), May 10, 2013 (SPS)- Secretary General of Polisario Front and President of Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) Mohamed Abdelaziz said Friday in Al Ayun that "the policy of fear and terror" adopted by the Moroccan State against the Sahrawi people "has failed" adding that this period "is over."

"The policy of fear and terror adopted by the Moroccan State has failed. The time when this policy was carried out without witnesses is over,"

The  president of Republic said on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the foundation of Polisario Front, which is marked by the presence of many delegations, representatives of organizations and political parties, and a number of personalities and diplomats from several countries around the world, as well as journalists.

Mohamed Abdelaziz underlined that "the revolted Sahrawi masses" who marched on 4 May in the occupied cities of Western Sahara, especially in Al-Ayun, Smara and Boujdour, voiced the discontent of the whole people, by sending a "strong and clear message" to Morocco and to the entire world showing that the Sahrawi people "are resolutely committed" to establishing an independent State, whatever the sacrifices may be.

Many "unprecedented" peaceful demonstrations were held on 4 May in the occupied Sahrawi cities, especially in Al-Ayun, to claim the right of Sahrawi people to self-determination and to call for extending the prerogatives of MINURSO (United Nations Mission for Referendum in Western Sahara) to include human rights monitoring.(SPS)
