AU Commission on Peace and Security calls to encounter challenges to peace in Western Sahara

Banjul (Gambia), December 31, 2013 (SPS) - The Commissioner for Peace and Security of the African Union, Mr. Ismail Chergui, called to encounter the challenges that impede the peace in a number of African regions including the Western Sahara.

 

During  Peace and Security Council meeting of heads of state and government in Banjul, Gambia, the Commissioner for Peace and Security of the African Union said that efforts will be continued to address these challenges through actions which will be put in place. (SPS)

Self-determination is solution to Western Sahara issue (Algerian Foreign Minister)

Paris, December 31, 2013 (SPS) -  Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramtane Lamamra highlighted that the solution to the Western Sahara issue is to enable Sahrawi people to exercise self-determination.  

 

In an interview with monthly magazine Africa Asia in its edition of January to be issued Tuesday,  the Algerian chief diplomat said "whether the question of Palestine and the Western Sahara, self-determination is the solution."

 

Sahrawi people determination for independence remains "intact," says Sahrawi President

AWSERD (Saharawi refugee camps) - Sahrawi President, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, said Tuesday in Awserd that the determination of the Saharawi people to fight against the Moroccan occupation and gain independence remains "intact".

 

"We renew our oath to our brave martyrs and our prisoners languishing in Moroccan jails that our determination remains intact to fight against the Moroccan occupation for gaining independence," said Abdelaziz in a speech delivered before the 8th Saharawi Youth Congress.

Auserd (Saharawi refugee camps) December 29, 2013 (SPS) - The representative of Swedish Social Democratic Party affirmed Sunday in the Wilaya of Auserd, Saharawi refugee camps, that the struggle of the Saharawi people is "struggle for justice, human rights and democracy," in a speech delivered during the opening of the Eighth Sahrawi Youth Conference.  

 

The representative also affirmed that her organisation attaches great importance to the Sahrawi issue, expressing their solidarity with the struggle of the Saharawi people for freedom and independence.

International youth organizations express solidarity with Sahrawi youth

Auserd (Saharawi refugee camps) December 30, 2013 (SPS) -  The international delegations present at the Eighth Congress of Sahrawi Youth Union has expressed "full" solidarity  and support with the struggle of Saharawi youth for the liberation of the Western Sahara.

 

In its speech during the opening ceremony of the Conference, the Algerian Youth Organisation reaffirmed its  support to the Saharawi Youth and people, saying that their participation is "an expression of solidarity with the Saharawi Youth and people."

Auserd (Sahrawi refugee camps), December 29, 2013 (SPS ) - A youth delegation from the occupied territories of Western Sahara,  representing various forces of the intifada, is taking part in the Eighth Congress of the Sahrawi Youth Union, held in the Wilaya of Auserd, Sahrawi refugee camps.

 

The delegation is composed of 10 human rights activists from different regions of Sahrawi  occupied territories, southern Morocco and university sites.

ALGEIERS, December 29, 2013 (SPS) - Some 150 young representatives of European, African and American organizations will participate, along with 1,000 young Sahrawis, in the 8th Congress of the Saharawi Youth Union (UJSARIO) scheduled from 29 to 31 December in the province of Aousserd (Saharawi refugee camps).

Auserd (Sahrawi refugee camps), December 28, 2013 (SPS) -  The Eighth Conference of the Youth Union of Saguia El Hamra and Rio e Oro (UJTSARIO) will be held Sunday in the Wilaya of Auserd, Sahrawi refugee camps,  according to the organising  Committee.
