Abuja (Nigeria)July 15,2013 (SPS) - President of the Republic, General Secretary of the Polisario Front,Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, said on Monday that "as wars  and its consequences, such as the phenomenon of asylum and displacement, continue we cannot eliminate these pests" in reference to serious diseases such as AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, which are the themes of the Special Summit of the African Union, held on July 15 and 16 in Abuja.

Madrid,July16,2013 (SPS) - Three Spanish Organizations, CEAS-Sahara, Um Draiga and the observatory Aragon’s for Western Sahara filed a petition in the Supreme Court to deny the accusations of terrorism against the Polisario.

The Council of Ministers adopted in 2011 a recognition of Raimundo Lopez-Penalver as a victim of terrorism, died in Laiun in 1976. Implicitly, thereby Polisario Front is accused as the author of the attack.

Algiers, July 15, 2013 (SPS) - The non-governmental organization Amnesty International (AI) has called on the King of Spain, Juan Carlos, to discuss the violations of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara during his official visit to Morocco.


In a communiqué published on its website, Amnesty International underlined three main issues regarding Morocco, namely the question of Sahara and violation of human rights, the repression of journalists and violence against women.

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), July 14, 2013 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz appointed Saturday Mr. Hamad Mohamed Fadel as a director at the Transport Ministry and chairman of the Saharawi Electricity Foundation.

Algiers, July 7, 2013 (SPS) - The Speaker of Algeria’s Council of the Nation (Upper House of Parliament) Mr. Abdelkader Bensalah said Sunday in relation to the Algerian-Moroccan relations that “Moroccan thesis has always lacked sincerity,” especially when comes to the Western Sahara issue.


“The Moroccan thesis has always lacked sincerity, Morocco regards Algeria as a source of all problems,” said Bensalah in an interview the Algerian newspaper of Al Khabar.

Murcia (Spain), July 6, 2013 (SPS) - President of the Regional Assembly of Murcia, Spain, Mr. Francisco Celdrán Vidal has stressed the need to find an “urgent” solution to the issue of Western Sahara in accordance with international legitimacy requirements, during a reception of a group of Saharawi children, who are visiting the region in the context of “Holidays in Peace Programme”, according to a source from Saharawi representation.

Oslo, July 6, 2013 (SPS) - The summer camp of youth of Norway’s Labour Party (AUF) kicked off Wednesday in the presence of a delegation of the Saharawi Youth Union (UJSARIO), informed a source close to delegation.


The delegation took this opportunity to meet AUF chairman Eskil Pedersen, Norwegian Minister of Culture and some representatives of civil society organizations, who are present at the camp.

London, July 6, 2013 (SPS) - The American company General Electric has pulled out of a bid to construct two wind farms in the occupied Western Sahara, said Friday Western Sahara Resource Watch (WSRW) on its website.


“After checking with our colleagues, we have decided that GE is not participating in the tender for the construction of wind farms in the occupied Western Sahara,” said the GE's Board of Directors in a letter to WSRW.

Gneva, July04, 2013(SPS) – A meeting between the United Nations refugee agency, the two parties Polisario Front and Morocco, as well as the neighboring counties Algeria and Mauritania was held yesterday in Geneva with agreement to expand a programme of family visits between Sahrawi refugees living in camps near Tindouf, Algeria, and their families in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.
