Abuja, July 14, 2013 (SPS) - The Minister of Health Mr. Mohamed Lamin Dadi participated at the meeting of the Bureau of the African Union Ministers of Health, held in the Nigerian capital, ahead of the summit of AU heads of state and government which will kick off tomorrow in the presence of the Saharawi President Mohamed Abdelaziz.
The Bureau focused on the work done since his election on March 2013 during the Addis Ababa meeting, as well as the ways to speed up the completion of the planned programmes, most notably the International Conference on Women and Children’s Health in Africa, to be held in South Africa early next month.
The African ministers discussed ways to coordinate efforts with international partners to ensure the achievement of the objectives of the African Union with regard to health and the fight against deadly diseases and the right to access to treatment.
The Saharawi Minister of Health was accompanied by the Minister Delegate for Africa Mr. Hamdi Abeiha, SADR Permanent Representative to the AU Mr. Laman Baali, Ambassador in Nigeria Mr. Abbi Bachraya Bachir, in addition to Mr. Wadad Mustapha, in charge of a mission in the SADR embassy in Abuja.
