El Aaiun(occupied Saharawi territories), February 02, 2016 (SPS) - The Collective of Sahrawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA), has condemned the bloody events that took place in the university sites of Agadir and Marrakech (Morocco) which claimed the lives of the Sahrawi student, Wissal Jalihenna and young Moroccan Omar Jalek and leaving several injured.

AU condemns Morocco obstruction of Ban Ki-Moon visit to Western Sahara

Addis Ababa,  February 02, 2016 (SPS) .- The ordinary 26 AU summit of Heads of State and Government condemned Moroccan obstacles to hinder the expected visit of Secretary General of the United Nations Mr. Ban Ki-Moon to Western Sahara and neighboring countries to boost the peace process.

 

Prime Minister holds talks in Addis Ababa with several African leaders

Addis Ababa, February 1, 2016 (SPS) The Prime Minister, Abdul Khader Taleb Oumar, met in Addis Ababa, on the sidelines of the 26th summit of the African Union, with several African heads of state and government.

 

They were the presidents of Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Namibia and the heads of delegations of Algeria, Angola, Mozambique, Mauritius and Tanzania, in addition to other participating delegations from different continents.

 

Minister of Foreign Affairs holds talks in Addis Ababa with his Swedish counterpart

Addis Ababa, February 1, 2016 (SPS) Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Salem Ould Salek met, in Addis Ababa, on the sidelines of the meeting of Foreign Ministers African Union, with Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallström.

 

During the meeting, Ould Salek informed the Swedish Minister on Africa's position regarding the question of Western Sahara, the latest developments related to this issue, and the situation of impasse due to the intransigence of Morocco.

 

Prime Minister holds talks in Addis Ababa with Ban Ki-moon

Addis Ababa, February 1, 2016 (SPS) Prime Minister Abdelkader Taleb Omar met Sunday in Addis Ababa with the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

 

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 26th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, held under the theme "2016, Year of Human Rights in Africa."

 

Polisario Front calls on Spain to complete decolonization process in Western Sahara

Madrid, 30 jan 2016 (SPS) The new representative of the Frente Polisario in Spain, Khira Boulahi, called Saturday on Spain to complete the decolonization process in Western Sahara, stressing that "the involvement of Spain would accelerate the independence of this territory ".

 

In an interview with Spanish "cuartopoder", the representative of the Frente Polisario asked the Spanish Government to play an active role in the United Nations Security Council to expedite the decolonization of Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa.

 

26th AU ordinary summit opens in Addis Ababa

RND reiterates support for struggle of Saharawi people

Algiers, January 30, 2016 (SPS) Algeria National Rally for Democracy (RND) reiterated Friday its "constant" support to the Saharawi people in their struggle for self-determination and independence.

 

In a political resolution adopted at the end of a session of the national Council, RND congratulated the Sahrawi people for the success of the 14th Congress of Polisario Front and for the new international confirmation of its inalienable rights on its territory and its national wealth.

 

Moroccan authorities expel Spanish delegation from occupied city of Dakhla

Dakhla (occupied territories), January 30, 2016 (SPS) - The Moroccan occupation authorities have expelled Friday from the occupied city of Dakhla a Spanish delegation intended to visit Sahrawi families in the city.

 

The delegation from the Island of Tenerife had boarded a flight from Las Palmas but upon landing at the airport in the occupied city of Dakhla the airplane was surrounded by Moroccan security services and authorities who prevented the delegation members from disembarking and sent them back on the same flight.

 

Prime Minister arrives in Addis Ababa to take part in 26th AU summit

Shaheed El-Hafed, January 29, 2016 (SPA) - President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, received Frida at Presidency of the Republic, Mr. Paolo Dieci, Director of CISP (International Committee for the Development of Peoples).

 

During the meeting, the President of the Republic addressed the harsh conditions experienced by the Saharawi people, both in the refugee camps and the occupied territories as a result of the Moroccan occupation for more than 40 years.
