President of Republic honours baccalaureate degree holders

Boujdour (refugee camps), August 7, 2015 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz on Thursday morning oversaw a ceremony to honour the Saharawi students who earned the baccalaureate degree this year, in the presence of the prime minister, minister of education, and other members of the government and Polisario Front's National Secretariat.

Saharawi ambassador holds talks with Zimbabwean officials

Harare, August 6, 2015 (SPS) - Ambassador in Zimbabwe Mr. Deich Mohamed Saleh on Thursday met with the spokesperson of Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front and the minister of Economic Planning and Investment Promotion, Mr. Simon Khaya, at his office in the government complex in Harare.

El Aaiun (occupied territories), August 6, 2015 (SPS) - The Saharawi masses of occupied El Aaiun, capital of Western Sahara, condemned Wednesday, in popular demonstrations, the illegal exploitation of Saharawi natural resources by foreign companies in complicity with the Moroccan occupation authorities, in a flagrant violation of international law which prevents the exploitation of natural resources in occupied Western Sahara.

 

Saharawi political prisoner transferred to hospital in critical condition

Sale (Morocco), August 5, 2015 (SPS) - The Saharawi political prisoner, Dafi Deich, suffered Tuesday from a severe fainting resulted from a high blood sugar, said a source from the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.


For the source, the prisoner lost consciousness after he got angry at Sale Prison’s medical staff being late in bringing medicaments.


He was transferred to the hospital after two hours, the time Moroccan police came to take him from the prison.

Situation of Saharawi pupils in occupied territory “disastrous” (minister)

Algiers, August 5, 2015 (SPS) - The Minister of Education Ms. Mariam Salek Hmada on Tuesday described as “disastrous” the situation experienced by Saharawi pupils in the occupied territory of Western Sahara, due to Morocco’s practices against them.


In a meeting with her Algerian counterpart Ms. Nouria Benghebrit, the minister indicated that Moroccan occupying authorities use all kinds of restrictions and pressures on Saharawi pupils, by militarizing primary and intermediate schools.

Algerian Education Ministry renews readiness to cooperate with Saharawi counterpart

Algiers, August 5, 2015 (SPS) - Algerian Minister of National Education Ms. Nouria Benghebrit on Tuesday reiterated her ministry’s readiness to continue providing assistance to the Saharawi Ministry of Education, in a meeting with her Saharawi counterpart Ms. Mariam Salek Hmada.


The Algerian minister expressed willingness to work on boosting cooperation in the field of the modernization of school system in the light of Algeria’s rich experience.

SNHRC deplores Moroccan human rights abuses in Western Sahara

Saharawi Students Union turns 40 years of existence tomorrow

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), August 4, 2015 (SPS) - Saharawi Students Union (UESARIO) will celebrate the 40th anniversary of its creation tomorrow, August 5th, by organizing a variety of festivities commemorating the event.


Established on 5 August 1975, the Union is grass-root organization of a political nature that brings together Saharawi students in the refugee camps, occupied territories and Diaspora.


It organizes the Saharawi students on leagues, branches and bureau for each university.

Launch of campaign against San Leon explorations in Western Sahara

Germany's position on Western Sahara compatible with international law (German diplomat)

Berlin, 31 July 2015 (SPS) - The Minister of State for Europe in the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Michael Roth, has confirmed that Germany's position on Western Sahara is fully compatible with international law, in response to a letter from Norbert Neuser, German SPD, MEP, Chairman of the Western Sahara Intergroup in the European Parliament and member of the board of the Association of Friends of Sahrawi People in Germany.

Prime Minister warns against impact of drugs coming from Morocco

Algiers, July 30, 2015 (SPS) - Prime Minister Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar on Thursday warned against the risks of drugs coming from Morocco on the security of the region and the world in general, highlighting that Morocco remains the largest producer and exporter of Cannabis in the world according to international reports.


In an interview with the Algerian daily “El-Khabar”, the Minister said Morocco’s drugs are being sent abroad, an act he described as a “crime against the international law.”
