Algiers, 3 August 2015 (SPS) - The Speaker of the People’s National Assembly Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa affirmed Sunday, in Algiers, that Algeria’s support to the struggle of the Sahrawi people “is based on the unchanging principles of its foreign policy.”
In an audience granted to a delegation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), led by the governor of Laayoune city Hama El Bounya, Ould Khelifa underlined that the “Sahrawi issue is a decolonization issue according to the United Nations resolutions and international decisions” and that Algeria “support the right of the Sahrawi people to exercise their self-determination in accordance with the international legality,” said a the People’s National Assembly in a communiqué.
“This unchanging position stems from the Declaration of 1st November which insists in the liberation of colonialisms’ peoples,” he added.
“Algeria’s support to the struggle of the Sahrawi people is based on the unchanging principles of its foreign policy and consequently its position is only intended to support a just cause to allow peoples to exercise their rights to self-determination in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions,” he added.
Ould Khelifa underlined “the support of the People’s National Assembly to the Sahrawi cause in all the international and regional parliamentary forums.” (SPS)
