Algiers, August 5, 2015 (SPS) - The Minister of Education Ms. Mariam Salek Hmada on Tuesday described as “disastrous” the situation experienced by Saharawi pupils in the occupied territory of Western Sahara, due to Morocco’s practices against them.
In a meeting with her Algerian counterpart Ms. Nouria Benghebrit, the minister indicated that Moroccan occupying authorities use all kinds of restrictions and pressures on Saharawi pupils, by militarizing primary and intermediate schools.
“Saharawi pupils are being systematically expelled from classrooms on daily basis. They are also subject to kidnapping on the ground of calling for the right of their people to freedom and independence,” highlighted Ms. Mariam. (SPS)
