Brutal intervention against peaceful sit-in Smara occupied city

Smara (Occupied Territories), October 31, 2015 (SPS) The Moroccan occupation forces intervened on Friday against a peaceful sit-in organized by Saharawi citizens in the occupied city of Smara, said a source from the Ministry of Occupied Territories.

 

During the sit-in, participants chanted slogans denouncing the Moroccan occupation of their territory and the policy of marginalization against Sahrawis.

Algiers, 31 Oct 2015 (SPS) - United Nations office in Algeria on Thursday urged the international community to take the appropriate actions to meet the urgent needs of Saharawi refugees, hit by the bad weather that ravaged recently the five refugee camps in Tindouf (Algeria's south-west).

 

MEPs urge Commission to give further aid to Sahrawi refugees

Brussels, 31 Oct 2015 (SPS) - Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) on Friday sent a letter to EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Christos Stylianides, urging him to "give new financial aid" to the Sahrawi refugees, severely hit by the recent torrential rains which devastated several camps in Tindouf area.

PFU expresses solidarity with Sahrawi refugees Camps

Nouakchott, (Mauritania) October 29, 2015 (SPS) .- The Mauritanian political party Union of Progressive Forces (PFU) has voiced on Wednesday its solidarity with the Saharawi refugees Camps following  the recent torrential rains that hit the region.

 

 

In a statement, UFP calls on the Mauritanian government to provide emergency aid to the victims in the Sahrawi refugee camps.

 

He also urged the NGOs to intervene to provide support to the victims in the Sahrawi refugee camps. (SPS)

SADR takes part in education science technology African Commission first meeting

French delegation on a working visit to the Sahrawi Refugee Camps

Auserd(Saharawi refugee camps) October 28, 2015 (SPS) - French delegation headed by chairwoman of the French friendship Association with the Sahrawi people in France, Ms. Regine filmau visited on Tuesday the province of Auserd.


 
The delegation was received by the governor of Auserd Mr. Salek Baba Hassana and representatives of the Sahrawi Association for the promotion of cultural exchange with the Francophone world and many of the professors of the French language in Sahrawi refugee camps.
 

Moroccan occupation forces impose military siege on occupied Western Sahara

Occupied El Aaiun, October 28, 2015 (SPS) .- the Moroccan occupation regime has imposed a strong military siege on the occupied cities of Western Sahara in order to suppress any peaceful protest of the Sahrawi population that demands the independence and freedom for  Sahrawi people, as reported Tuesday the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Abroad Communities.

The Italian Cooperation grants UNHCR for Sahrawi refugee camps

Algiers, October, 28 2015 (SPS) -The Italian Cooperation has approved the granting of a voluntary 200,000 Euros in emergency contributions to UNHCR to address the consequences of heavy floods in the Sahrawi refugee camps.

 

According to available estimates, more than 25,000 people were affected by the floods and would find themselves now in a state of grave necessity without shelter or food.

 

The African Union Commission donates 200.000 US$ to assist Saharawi refugees

Addis Ababa, (Ethiopia) October, 25 2015 (SPS) - The African Union Commission Chairperson, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, has announced a USD 200,000 donation to alleviate the plight of flood victims in the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (Sahrawi Republic). The AU Commission Chairperson made the announcement following reports that over 10-days of torrential rains brought heavy floods that destroyed several public buildings, community centres, and homes of refugees in all the Wilayas of the camps.

Aragon launches fundraising campaign for the Sahrawi refugees

Aragon (Spain) October, 27 2015 (SPS) – Sahrawi representative to Aragon Mr. Sidahmed Derbal and the Secretary-General of Trade Unions (CCOO) Mr. Julian Bobi on Monday has launched fundraising campaign to collect urgent aid for the population of the Sahrawi refugee camps following  the recent heavy rain.

 

Sahrawi diplomat said that “it is very necessary to unite efforts for the success of the humanitarian action”.

AU Staff Association donates 50.000 $ to assist Saharawi victims of floods in the refugee camps

Addis Ababa(Ethiopia) October 27, 2015 (SPS) -The President of the AU Staff Association, Dr. Salah Hammad, declared in a press release issued Monday, that the bureau of his organization decided to donate 50.000$ to the Saharawi refugees facing disastrous situation due to torrential rain and floods these past ten days.

“As our African sisters and brothers in the Saharawi camps are facing this serious crisis, the Executive Committee of the African Union Staff Association (Bureau) wishes to contribute a total of 50.000$ … on behalf of the AU Staff family.”
