A Saharawi political prisoner began a hunger strike

Rabat(Morocco), October, 21 2015 (SPS) -The Saharawi political prisoner, Mohamed Bourial has started last September 28 a hunger strike from his Moroccan prison Sale1 in protest against the deterioration of his health , said  a source from the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Community Abroad.

 

 

The Saharawi political prisoner, Mohamed Bourial demanded respect for their legitimate right to medical treatment, added the same source.

 

Moroccan authorities arrest two former Saharawi political prisoners

Occupied El Aaiun(SPS), October 21, 2015 (SPS) - The Moroccan occupation authorities arrested the former two Saharawi political prisoners Mohamed Biza and Abdessalam Loumadi in the Moroccan city of Agadir, reported a source from the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.

 

 

The same source revealed that the Saharawi political prisoner Abdeslam Loumadi had been detained for over 48 hours at the police station in the same city before being released with no explanation of the reasons for his arrest.

 

 

Saharawi political prisoner mothers in occupied Dajla demand the release of their sons

Health Ministry warns of flood effects on health

Chahid El-Hafed (Saharawi refugee camps), October, 21 2015 (SPS) -The Ministry of Public Health on Tuesday has  warned that "water resulting from flooding can be very damaging, calling for refugees to pay close attention and care of their health effects, mainly with high likelihood appearance  of skin diseases, pneumonia and diarrhea. "
 

Ministry statement reported that "with the fall of heavy rains that have left considerable damage, it also increased the percentage of contamination and humidity in the environment."

 

Floods leave considerable damage in the wilaya of Dajla

Dajla(Saharawi refugee camps), October, 20 2015 (SPS) -The wilaya of Daila, in the Saharawi refugee camps, was hit by heavy rains since Monday, leaving considerable damage.
 

 

Sources to SPS from Dajla that  "heavy floods have destroyed several public buildings and community centers, and have destroyed several homes of refugees, no victims are reported so far."

 

Moroccan security forces crack down peaceful demonstration in occupied El Aaiun

El Aaiun(occupied territories), October, 20 2015 (SPS) - The Moroccan security forces has violently dispersed a peaceful demonstration organized by dozens of Sahrawi in the city of El Aaiun (occupied Western Sahara) to demand the holding of a referendum of self-determination and the immediate release of all Saharawi political prisoners.

 

The protesters were strongly repressed by the various formations of Moroccan security such as rapid intervention forces, the police and the army, leaving several casualties and injuries, including:

Heavy rain leaves families without shelter in refugee camps

Shaheed El-Hafed (Refugee Camps), October 18, 2015 (SPS) Dozens of families were left without shelter due to fall Friday to Saturday of heavy rain in Sahrawi refugee camps, causing massive damage at level of the  wilayas and institutions.   

 

The rain which continued two days and expected to continue, depending on the weather, have led to the collapse of houses and tents in all wilayas particularly in the Wilaya of Awserd.

Cuba reiterates support to right of Sahrawi people

 New York, 17 Oct 2015 (SPS) - The Cuban delegation that participated in the Fourth Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee) reiterated that his country supports the right of the people of Western Sahara to self-determination on the basis of the United Nations Charter, international law and relevant UN resolutions.

 

CNASPS vigorously denounces Moroccan "savage" repression

Algiers(Algeria). October, 15 2015 (SPS) - The Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with the Sahrawi people (CNASPS) "vigorously" denounced the “savage and multiform” repression committed by the Moroccan occupying forces against the Sahrawi population in the occupied territories, said Thursday a statement from CNASPS.

 

A delegation of CNASPS submitted a petition at United Nations Headquarters in New York, to the members of the UN 4th Committee (Decolonization Committee) about the Western Sahara conflict, said the same source.

 

The UN should not shake off its responsibility to ensure self-determination for the Sahrawi people. Says Zimbabwean representative

El Salvador demands to grant Sahrawi people right to self-determination

New York (United Nations), October 15, 2015 (SPS) – the representative of El Salvador, Mr. Rubén Ignacio Zamora Rivas said in the general debate of the Special Political and Decolonization, on Wednesday.  That his country attached great importance to granting the people of that Territory the right of self-determination.

Costa Rica calls for the Saharwi people right to self-determination via referendum
