Namibia calls for "prompt" decolonization of Western Sahara

Dakhla, December 17, 2015 (SPS) The member of the Namibian parliament and representative of the SWAPO movement, Mr Nicky Tumusand, called for completion in the shortest possible time of the decolonization of the last colony in Africa, Western Sahara.

 

 In a message to the 14th Congress of the Polisario Front from the Namibian party, Mr Nicky has reiterated the support and solidarity of his country for the just struggle of the Saharawi people and their inalienable right to self-determination and independence.

Dakhla (Saharawi refugee camps), December 16, 2015 (SPS) - The representative of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) in Algiers, Mohamed Salah, affirmed Wednesday in the Sahrawi refugee camps of Dakhla that the Palestinians fully aware of the suffering of the Saharawi people from their own experience and suffering as a result of the Israeli occupation.

 

ANC SG announces boycott of companies activating in Saharawi occupied territories

Dakhla (refugee camps), December 16, 2015 (SPS) The Secretary General of the African National Congress (ANC - South Africa), Gwede Mantashe, announced Wednesday at Dakhla (refugee camps), that his political movement will initiate soon a campaign of boycott of all foreign companies that exploit the natural resources of Western Sahara.

Brussels, December 16, 2015 (SPS) - European United Left / Nordic Green left (GUE/NGL) group at the European Parliament urged the United Nations, on Wednesday, to expand the prerogatives of its Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) to include monitoring of human rights.

 

Sahrawi people in position of strength, close to victory

Dakhla (Sahrawi refugee camps), December 16, 2015 (SPS) - Sahrawi people are in a "position of strength" and "close to victory," said Wednesday Secretary General of Polisario Front and President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) Mohamed Abdelaziz.

 

"We are in a position of strength, not only because law and justice are with our cause, but also because we have gone through important stages," said Abdelaziz in his opening address at the 14th Polisario Front Congress, adding that the Sahrawi people "are close to victory."

 

14th Polisario Front Congress opens in Dakhla refugee camp

Dakhla (Saharawi Refugee Camps), December 16, 2015 (SPS) - The works of the fourteenth Congress of the Polisario Front is to open Wednesday in the Saharawi refugee camp of Dahkla, under the slogan "Strength, Planning Willpower to impose national independence and sovereignty," with the participation of 2472 Saharawi delegates and a large number of foreign guests.

 

Some 2,475 delegates at 14th Polisario Front Congress

Algiers, December 14, 2015 (SPS) - Some 2,475 delegates will take part in the 14th Congress of the Polisario Front (December 16-20) in the province of Dakhla (Saharawi refugee camp), according to the Saharawi ambassador to Algiers, Brahim Ghali.

 

The congress will be held under the slogan, "Strength, Planning and Willpower to Impose National Independence and Sovereignty."

 

"The congress is due to draw a large number of Sahrawi people from the refugee camps, the occupied territories and the diaspora," Ghali told APS.

 

Morocco increasingly “isolated” on world stage (President of Republic)

Algiers, December 14, 2015 (SPS) - President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and Secretary General of the Polisario Front Mohamed Abdelaziz, said Sunday in Algiers that “Morocco is increasingly isolated on the international diplomatic scene,” following the briefing of UN Envoy for Western Sahara, Christopher Ross before UN Security Council.

 

Ross has recently completed a tour in the region.

 

CNCPPDH awards SADR president in recognition of his fight for country’s liberation

Algiers, December 13, 2015 (SPS) - The price of the National Advisory Commission for the Promotion and the Protection of Human Rights (CNCPPDH) was awarded Sunday, in Algiers, to the President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, in recognition of his fight and activism for the liberation of occupied Western Sahara and the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination for more than 40 years.

EU-Morocco agricultural agreement voided: Historic decision for Saharawi people's struggle

Brussels (Belgium), December 11, 2015 (SPS) - The decision taken by European Union Court of Justice (CJEU) invalidating the trade agreement on agricultural produce signed, in 2012, between the Kingdom of Morocco and the European union, is "historic" and poses the "basic" question on the future of Western Sahara territories, according to Lawyer Gilles Devers, the principal lawyer of the Polisario Front who brought the case before the court.

 

"Today's basic question is about the future of the territory and the people (of Western Sahara)," he told APS.

Algeria, US "determined" to help Ross in his mission in Western Sahara

Ban Ki-moon to visit region from January

Washington,December 09, 2015 (SPS) - The United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will undertake support actions to the mediation efforts for the settlement of the conflict in occupied Western Sahara, by paying a visit to the region as from January, announced Tuesday in New York his Special Envoy for Western Sahara Christopher Ross.

 

Ban Ki-moon tasked me to step up my efforts, said Ross in his briefing to the UN Security Council, adding that to support the process of peace in Western Sahara, Ban Ki-moon plans to visit the region as from January.

South African Ambassador reiterates his country support to Saharawi people struggle
