Lehbib Breika presents credentials as SADR ambassador to Guyana

Georgetown (Guyana), Dec 12, 2013 (SPS) - Mr. Lehbib Breika presented yesterday evening his credentials as an ambassador of the Saharawi Republic (SADR) in Guyana to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Guyana Mr. Samuel Anthony Hinds, on behlaf of the President H.E. Mr. Donald Ramotar who was taking part at the official memorial service of the deceased former South African President Nelson Mandela.

EU must be part of solution, not a part of Wesern Sahara conflict (Saharawi diplomat)

Brussels, Dec 12, 2013 (SPS) - "Euroepan Union (EU) must be part of the solution, rather than be a part of the conflict of Western Sahara," said Mr. Mohamed Ali Zerouali, Polisario Front’s Representative in Brussels.


The Saharawi diplomat emphasized that the approval of EU fishing agreement with Morocco, which does not exclude Saharawi waters, "encourages Morocco to persist in its occupation and intransigence."

EU-Morocco fisheries agreement adoption reinforces colonization policy, says Saharawi official

Algiers, Dec 12, 2013 (SPS) - General Coordinator of the Saharawi observatory natural resources control Zoubir Ghali said Wednesday in Algiers the adoption on Tuesday by the European Parliament of the fisheries agreement between Morocco and the European Union (EU) "reinforces" colonization policy.


In a statement to APS, Ghali stated that the adoption by the European MPs of the EU-Morocco fisheries agreement that includes Saharawi territorial waters "reinforces" the support of some members to the colonization policy.

French NGO denounces European Parliament’s approval of EU-Morocco fishing agreement

Paris, Dec 12, 2013 (SPS) - The Platform for Solidarity with Western Sahara People denounced Tuesday European Parliament’s decision to approve EU’s fishing agreement and Morocco, dubbing it a "real denial of justice" for Saharawi people, considering it as "illegal from the international law point of view."

Washington, Dec 10, 2013 (SPS) - The international NGO Western Sahara Resource Watch (WSRW) denounced Tuesday the adoption by European Parliament of a fisheries agreement between the European Union (EU) and Morocco, noting that EU has violated human rights on the same day of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

EU-Morocco Fisheries Agreement undermines UN efforts to find solution to Western Sahara conflict (statement)

Strasbourg, Dec 10, 2013 (SPS) - The Frente Polisario stated that the new EU-Morocco Fisheries Agreement, approved hours ago by the European Parliament, will “destabilise an already volatile situation in the region, thereby undermining the UN efforts to find a peaceful and lasting solution” to the conflict of Western Sahara.

Strasbourg, Dec 10, 2013 (SPS) - Polisario Front declared that the approval of the new Protocol to the EU- Morocco Fisheries Partnership Agreement (FPA) “will signal support for Morocco’s illegal claims” on Western Sahara, adding that it is “contrary to the rights and interests of the Sahrawi people and to the relevant principles of international law applicable to Western Sahara as a Non-Self-Governing Territory.”
