El Aaiun (occupied territories), Dec 11,2013 (SPS) - At least 100 people, of which foreign activists, were injured after Moroccan occuption police broke down a peaceful demonstration organized Tuesday in the occupied city of El Aaiun, capital of Western Sahara, said a Saharawi media source.

At least 100 people, of which Saharawi children, journalists and disabled as well as foreign activists, were injured, after they held a peaceful demonstration to protest the EU-Morocco Fisheries Agreement, approved yesterday by the European Parliament.

Similar demonstrations were thwarted by Moroccan repressive apparatus in Smara Street in the occupied city of El Aaiun.

The demonstrators chanted anti-pact slogans and display banners calling for the independence of Western Sahara, before Moroccan police knocked them down.

Despite the military and security deployment by Morocco, the demonstrations had spread to other neighborhoods and streets of the city, including Mohamed Dadach Street. (SPS)
