Mozambique will intensify efforts to accelerate decolonization of Western Sahara

Maputo, Dec 4, 2013 (SPS) - The Speaker of the Mozambican Parliament, Ms. Veronica Macama, said Tuesday that her country “will intensify efforts at all levels to accelerate the decolonization process in Western Sahara,” informed Saharawi embassy in Maputo.


In a meeting with the Saharawi Ambassador Mr. Wadadi Ahmed Alheiba, Ms. Macama renewed Mozambique's support to the struggle of Saharawi people for freedom and independence.

PAP appeals to EP not to approve EU-Morocco Fisheries Agreement

Midrand, Dec 4, 2013 (SPS) - The President of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), H.E Hon. Bethel Nnaemeka Amadi, appealed to the President of the European Parliament, Mr. Martin Schulz, not to approve the EU-Morocco Fisheries Protocol, because it violates international legitimacy and right of the Saharawis people to self-determination.

Wilaya of Boujdour hosts African conference on women’s role in liberation movements

Boujdour (refugee camps), Dec 3, 2013 (SPS) - An African conference on women’s role in the liberation movements will be held from 6th to 8th December in the Wilaya of Boujdour, Saharawis refugee camps, in the presence of delegations of several African states, said a statement of the Saharawis Women Union.


This confernce will invoke the experiences of some revolutions that paved the way for the liberation of considerable parts of the African continent, said the statement.

President of Kenya’s National Assembly renews support to Saharawi cause

Algiers, Dec 3, 2013 (SPS) - President of the National Assembly of Kenya, Justin Muturi, reaffirmed Monday in Algiers his country’s support to the Saharawi people's right to self-determination in accordance with UN decisions.


"Our belief is that every citizen is free to determine how to live and where to live," said the President of the National Assembly of Kenya, Justin Muturi, in a statement to the press after his meeting with the Algerian Foreign Minister, Mr. Ramtane Lamamra,

Saharawi delegation to take part at World Festival of Youth and Students

Quito, Dec 3, Nov 2013 (SPS) - A Saharawi delegation, led by the Minister of Vocational Training and Public Function Ms. Khira Bulahi and Minister of Youth and Sports Mr. Mohamed Moulud Mohamed Fadel, will participate at the 18th World Festival of Youth and Student, to be held in Quito, capital of Ecuador, on December 7th-13th.


1200 participants from all countries of the world, including 60 Saharawis, will take part at this international youth gathering, said a source of the organizing committee.

Delegations, associations and medical missions from Spain arrive in Saharawi refugee camps

Shaheed El Hafed, December 2, 2013 (SPS) - Numerous parliamentary delegations, associations, medical missions and host families from Spain began to arrive Saturday in Saharawi refugee camps, according to the Central Direction of the Protocol.

 

Over 500 visitors of parliamentarians, aid workers and host families, received last summer Saharawi children in the framework of the program "Holidays in Peace," will be visiting the Saharawi camps until December 8, indicated the same source.

 

UPyD urges Spanish Government to oppose any agreement with Morocco including territorial Sahrawi waters

Madrid, December 2, 2013 (SPS)- Spanish political party Union, Progress and Democracy (UPyD) led by Rosa Díez has rejected any deal involving Saharawi territorial waters.

 

In a proposition presented for discussion in the Congress Committee on Agriculture, UPyD demanded Spanish Government to "actively oppose by all legal, diplomatic, political means any fisheries agreement EU wants to sign with Morocco including territorial waters of the Western Sahara. "

 

President of Parliament of Balearic Islands reiterates support to Saharawi cause

Balearic Islands (Spain), December 2, 2013 (SPS)- The President of the Parliament of the Balearic Islands, Mrs. Margalida Duran i Cladera reiterated her support to the Saharawi cause during a reception at headquarters of the Balearic parliament offered to the Polisario Front Delegate in Spain, Boushraya Beyun, and the Saharawi Representative in the Balearic Islands, Mr. Mohamed Mustafa Teleimidi, according to the Polisario Front Representation in the Balearic Islands.

 

Algerian, Tunisian and Sahrawi civil society organizations denounce human rights violation in Western Sahara

Algiers, December 1, 2013 (SPS) - Representatives of civil society organizations of Algeria, Tunisia and Western Sahara have denounced Sunday in Algiers the human rights violations in the occupied Sahrawi territories and the Morocco's "illegal" exploitation of Sahrawi natural resources.

 

In a final statement issued at the end of a meeting that brought together representatives of civil society organizations of the three countries, the participants denounced "Morocco's violation of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara."

 

National Council starts autumn session
