President arrives in Mexico for inauguration of new Mexican President-elect

Mexico City (Mexico), Nov 30, 2012 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, arrived early Friday morning at Benito Juarez’s International Airport in Mexico City, capital of the United States of Mexico, to attend the official inauguration of the new President-elect Enrique Peña Nieto, scheduled for Saturday, 1st December 2012.

Addis Ababa, Nov 30, 2012 (SPS) - The Saharawi Republic is participating at the Joint African Conference of Agriculture and Trade, which opened Thursday at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, under the motto “Boosting intra-African Trade: a key to agricultural transformation and ensuring food and nutrition security”, according to a statement of SADR Embassy in Ethiopia.

Aminatou Haidar, Honorary Citizen of Italian commune of Pontedera

Rome,Nov29,2012(SPS) - Sahrawi human rights activist Aminatou Haidar has been named Honorary Citizen of the commune of Pontedera, in Tuscany, Italy, the Sahrawi representation in Rome said  Wednesday.
 

Last Saturday, similar award was presented by the municipality of Sesto Fiorentino (Tuscany) to the courageous woman for her struggle for human rights in the occupied Sahrawi territories.
 

Yemenite national centre to back Saharawi people’s struggle

Over 10,000 antipersonnel mines destroyed by Polisario since 2005

London (UK) Nov28, 2012(SPS) - More than 10,000 antipersonnel mines were destroyed by the Polisario Front in the Sahrawi occupied territories since 2005, Representative of Polisario Front in the United Kingdom Limam Mohamed Ali said Tuesday in an interview to APS.
 

The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) joined in 2005 "Geneva Call," a treaty which condemns the use, the acquisition, the production and the transfer of antipersonnel mines, said the source.
 

Antipersonnel mines: Western Sahara, among most contaminated territories in the world

London (UK) Nov28, 2012(SPS) - Western Sahara is among the "most heavily mined" regions in the world, said in London Steven Smith, the head of the non-governmental organization "Action on Armed Violence".
 

"The Western Sahara is one the most heavily mined territories in the world with over 2,500 people killed in antipersonnel mine blasts," said Smith.
 

"We have to step up efforts in the Western Sahara to better address the needs of landmine survivors, 56 percent of them have lifelong after-effects," he added.

Polisario Front expresses its willingness for intensifying and accelerating negotiations with Morocco at highest level

New York (United Nations) Nov27, 2012(SPS) the Representative of the Polisario Front to the United Nations, Ahmed Boukhari, expressed on Tuesday,the willingness of the Polisario Front to “consider approaches for intensifying and accelerating talks at the highest level by including a clear timetable and deadline for the holding of a referendum, as required by international law”  according to a  message sent to the  current president of the Security Council of the United Nations ambassador,Hardeep Singh Puri.

Madrid  (Spain) Nov27,2012(SPS) - Sons of the Clouds: The Last Colony, a documentary by Javier Bardem and Alvaro Mongoria dealing with the Saharawi cause, has been screened recently in Madrid and Toledo (Castilla-La Mancha region)
 

The documentary’s screening was attended by Polisario Front’s representative in Spain, Bechraya Hamoudi Beyoune, producer Alvaro Mongoria, representatives of several Spanish institutions, supporters of the Saharawi cause and a large audience.
 

Religious Dialogue for Peace is a message of Solidarity with the Saharawi people, says Prime Minster

Boujadour (Saharawi Refugee Camps), Nov 26, 2012 (SPS) - Prime Minster Abdelkader Taleb Omar said yesterday  at the opening of the Seventh Religious Dialogue for Peace  that "choosing the Saharawi refugee camps to hold such event is a message of solidarity and support with the Saharawi cause."

Prime Minister asserted that “the large participation at the forum, is clear message to the Moroccan false propaganda which tries to link Saharawi people with terrorism and the Saharawi refugee camps are not safe “
