CUT reaffirms support and solidarity with the UGTSARIO

Santiago, Oct 21, 2012 (SPS) - The President of the Workers' United Center of Chile (CUT), Ms. Barbara Figueroa has reaffirmed her support and solidarity with UGTSARIO and  through it to  the struggle of Saharawi people for freedom and independence.

 

In a congratulatory message to the 7th Congress of the Saharawi Union of  Workers (UGTSARIO) to be opened today afternoon , Ms. Barbara Figueroa expressed solidarity with Saharawi people especially the workers.

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Oct 21, 2012 (SPS) - Secretaruy General of the Saharawi Workers Union (UGTSARIO) Mr. Mohamed Lehbib told SPS that seventh congress UGTSARIO, to be opened tomorrow evening, will be marked by large participation by all extensions of UGTSARIO in the national institutions, communities abroad, occupied territories and People’s Liberation Army, it will also witness notable foreign presence.

Algeria supports Christopher Ross efforts in Western Sahara

Washington, Oct 20, 2012 (SPS) - The Algerian Minister Delegate for Maghreb and African Affairs Mr. Abdelkader Messahel declared Friday in Washington that Algeria supports the efforts of the United Nations Secretary General’s Personal Envoy for Western Sahara, Christopher Ross, underlining that the Sahrawi people right to self-determination is the only solution.

Humanitarian caravan left Paris to Saharawi refugee camps

Paris, Oct 20, 2012 (SPS) - A Humanitarian caravan left Friday at noon Paris heading to the Saharawi refugee camps to provide medical aids and surgeries for the benefit of some elderly people and children in particular, according to organizers of the initiative.


The medical caravan, which is called by The Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with the Sahrawi people (CNASPS), consists of 24 from Île-de-France and other regions and different disciplines.

Rally in Paris to demand releasing Sahrawi political prisoners

Minister of Health holds meetings with officials in Italian provinces

Rome, Oct 18, 2012 (SPS) - The Minister of Health, Mr. Mohamed Lamine Daddy, held meetings with a number of officials in the Italian provinces in order to strengthen the project of the essential medicines locally produced in the Sahrawi refugees,  according source from  Polisario Front representation in Italy.

 

The meetings discussed the completed projects in the refugee camps that the Italian provinces financed, including regional hospitals and clinics as well as sending medical missions to the camps, the source said.

 

Ross to visit North Africa and Europe

UN Fourth Committee: MFA expresses satisfaction for adoption ofdraft resolution on Western Sahara

New York, Oct 16, 2012 (SPS) Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek has expressed the satisfaction of the Saharawi   Government on the adoption of the UN Fourth committee to draft resolution reaffirming the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination

 

Head of Saharawi diplomacy said today in statemnt that the draft resolution strongly confirms the Western Sahara cause is decolonization issue must be resolved through respect and application of the principle of decolonization allows the Saharawi people to freely decide their future.

 

East Timor reiterates unwavering support for Saharawi people’s struggle

Dili, Oct 15, 2012 (SPS) - The Foreign Minister of East Timor has reiterated on Tuesday the country’s full support for struggle of Saharawi people to self-determination and independence, said the Saharawi Embassy in Deli.

 

Timorese Foreign Minister underlined during a meeting with the Saharawi Ambassador, Mohamed Salama Badi, that Timor’s position has been clearly reflected in its intervention at the UN Fourth committee, recalling it is based on a common history of resistance to colonialism.

Spanish deputies affirm determination to continue defending Saharawis’ self-determination

México DF, Oct 15, 2012 (SPS) - A Saharawi delegation led by Mr. Ahmed Moulay Ali was present at meeting gathered political parties from Latin America and Caribbean, Asia and Africa that took place from 13 and 14 October 2012 in Mexico, according to sources from the Saharawi Representation to Mexico.


The meeting was attended by the Permanent Conference of Political Parties of Latin America and the Caribbean (COPPPAL), International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) and representative of African political parties.
