UGTSARIO 7th Congress to be marked by remarkable national and foreign participation (Official)

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Oct 21, 2012 (SPS) - Secretaruy General of the Saharawi Workers Union (UGTSARIO) Mr. Mohamed Lehbib told SPS that seventh congress UGTSARIO, to be opened tomorrow evening, will be marked by large participation by all extensions of UGTSARIO in the national institutions, communities abroad, occupied territories and People’s Liberation Army, it will also witness notable foreign presence.


The Congress will be attended by delegations of trade unions from Africa, Europe, Latin America and Asia, he pointed out.


In his evaluation to the preparation period, Mr. Mohamed Lehbib praised the positive spirit and popular participation that characterized the preparatory political conferences, expressing conviction that the Congress will come up with results in the level of aspirations and hopes of the Sahrawi workers.


The sixth conference of trade union solidarity with the Saharawi workers will be held on the sidelines of UGTSARIO 7th Congress.


The Congress will be attended by 450 delegates, 30 of which from the occupied territories, it is therefore attended by foreign press delegations from Europe and Latin America as well as Algeria, Japan and Tunisia.


The Congress, which bears the name of Martyr Said Dambar, is being held from 21 until 23 October 2012 in the Wilaya of Boujdour under the motto: “resistance, liberation and development”.


The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, will address the Congress. (SPS)
