Saharawi Representation to Mexico attends COPPPAL-ICAPP meeting

México DF, Oct 15, 2012 (SPS) - A Saharawi delegation led by Mr. Ahmed Moulay Ali was present at meeting gathered political parties from Latin America and Caribbean, Asia and Africa that took place from 13 and 14 October 2012 in Mexico, according to sources from the Saharawi Representation to Mexico.


The meeting was attended by the Permanent Conference of Political Parties of Latin America and the Caribbean (COPPPAL), International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) and representative of African political parties.


It was inaugurated by Mr. Pedro Joaquin Codwell, President (PRI) PRI and President of ICAPP, Mr. Jorge Carlos Marín on behalf of President-elect Enrique Peña and Mr. Gustavo Carvajal, deputy president.


The two-day meeting focused on the joint cooperation between the political parties of the three continents to address global challenges.


On the sidelines of the meeting, the Saharawi diplomat met with representatives of delegations attending the meeting, where he informed them about the situation of human rights, peace process and the obstacles placed by Morocco in face of the UN efforts aiming at finding a lasting solution to the conflict of Western Sahara, indicated the same source.
