Washington, D.C,  March 03, 2016 (SPS) -Moroccan authorities continue perpetrating serious abuses against the Sahrawi people in the non-self-governing territory of Western Sahara—including revelations of historic mass graves, torture, and multiple and assorted violations of human rights—according to Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights’ biannual report on violations that took place from July to December 2015.

National Secretariat Bureau Calls immediate stop of Sahrawi natural resources looting

Chahid El Hafid, March 02. 2016 (SPS) - the Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front demanded on Tuesday  the immediate cessation of the operations of the Moroccan plunder of Sahrawi natural resources , welcoming the Lithuanian company LIFOSA, a pioneer in the production of mineral fertilizers decision to stop importing phosphate from occupied parts of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in meeting chaired by President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz.

Chahid El Hafid, March 02. 2016 (SPS) - the Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front condemned the heinous crime against the Saharawi citizen Shmad Bad Djoulicommitted by Moroccan occupation forces in  meeting chaired by President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz.

Chahid El Hafid, March 02, 2016 (SPS) - Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front welcomed Monday the forthcoming visit of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki-moon to the region, in a statement issued by its meeting chaired by President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz.

Geneva (Switzerland), March 02, 2016 (SPS) - Deputy Foreign Minister of South Africa Mr.  Mr Luwellyn Landers stressed that "Morocco does not appear any credible political will to resolve the conflict in Western Sahara in his speech on Monday during a workshop organized by the African Union Standing Mission to the human rights Council in Geneva, under the heading "right to development".

Algeria will continue to provide support for “just and definitive” settlement in Western Sahara

Geneva(Switzerland) March 02,2016 (SPS) -  Algeria will continue to provide its support for a “just and definitive” settlement of the conflict in Western Sahara through a “free and regular” self-determination referendum, said Tuesday in Geneva (Switzerland) the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ramtane Lamamra.

Algiers, March 02, 2016 (SPS) - The president of the party of the Union of Gabonese People (PUPG), Moukagni Iwangou Jean de Dieu underlined Tuesday, in Algiers, the urgency to settle the conflict in Western Sahara to get rid of the legacy of colonialism in Africa, considering that the self-determination referendum “is a fundamental right of the Sahrawi people.”

Sahrawi activists participates in UN Human Rights Council XXXI Session

Geneva, March 01, 2016 (SPS) - The XXXI Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council was inaugurated on Monday in the Swiss city of Geneva, with the participation of Saharawi activists from the occupied territories, the Saharawi refugee camps and the Diaspora.

The session that runs until March 24 was inaugurated by Choi Kyong-lim, the Chairman of the Council with the Secretary General of the United Nations Mr. Ban Ki-moon and Mr. Zaid Ra'ad high Commissioner of Human Rights.

Paris(France) March 01, 2016 (SPS) - the Platform of solidarity with the Saharawi people along with Saharawi and French civil society associations organized Monday a demonstration in front of the headquarters of the French Foreign Ministry, during which demonstrators raised slogans demanding French government to stand by the international legitimacy and to stop supporting the Moroccan occupation of the territory of Western Sahara.

Namibia “strongly” supports Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination

Algiers, 29 February 2016 (SPS) - Deputy Prime Minister of Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah underlined Monday, in Algiers, that her country “strongly” supports the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.

 

Following her discussions with Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra, the Namibian Deputy Prime Minister said that her country “strongly supports the Sahrawi people’s right” to decide on their fate.

 

We hope UN chief's visit would get Morocco to abide by UN resolutions (Prime Minister)

Dakhla (Refugee Camps)- Prime Minister Abdelkader Taleb Omar said he hoped UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's visit to the region would manage to get Morocco to respect UN decisions in favour of the Western Sahara people's self-determination.

 

In a statement to APS, Taleb Omar said Saharawi people "expect the UN chief to implement the content of his report 2014, in which he stressed the need to present new options if no progress is made in 2015."

 

Western Sahara: European deputies call on Mogherini not to participate in Crans Montana Forum

Brussels, 29 February 2016 (SPS) - Twenty four European deputies from four different parliamentary groups called on, Friday, the high Representative of the European Union (EU), Federica Mogherini, to suspend any official participation in the annual meeting of Crans Montana Forum, scheduled for March in Dakhla, in the Western Sahara territories occupied by Morocco.
