Chahid El Hafid, March 02, 2016 (SPS) - Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front welcomed Monday the forthcoming visit of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki-moon to the region, in a statement issued by its meeting chaired by President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz.
The Polisario Front PB reiterated its readiness to cooperate with the efforts of the Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki-moon and his Personal Envoy, Mr. Christopher Ross, in order to accelerate the decolonization of Western Sahara, on the basis of the Charter and the resolutions of the United Nations and the African Union, through the implementation of the requirements of the UN African peace plan of 1991, by setting a urgent date to the referendum for the Saharawi people.
In this regard the Bureau stressed that this fair and democratic solution, leading to enable the Saharawi people of their inalienable right to self-determination and to establish their independent state, is the only way to end the Sahrawi Moroccan conflict, and the restoration of security and lasting peace in the region.SPS
