Namibia “strongly” supports Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination

Algiers, 29 February 2016 (SPS) - Deputy Prime Minister of Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah underlined Monday, in Algiers, that her country “strongly” supports the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.

 

Following her discussions with Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra, the Namibian Deputy Prime Minister said that her country “strongly supports the Sahrawi people’s right” to decide on their fate.

 

She underlined, in this regard, that there is a “convergence” of views between Namibia and Algeria on several issues notably “the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination.”

 

Nandi Ndaitwah who emphasized the “historical ties” between the two countries, said that her visit is part of the “strengthening of cooperation at the political and economic levels,” underlining that the two sides agreed to exchange delegation visits, which will result in high-level visits.

 

In this regard, she announced the opening of a Namibian diplomatic representation in Algiers to strengthen this cooperation notably in the economic field. (SPS)
