Saharawi people solidarity Platform in French calls Paris to assume its responsibilities toward Saharawi people right

Paris(France) March 01, 2016 (SPS) - the Platform of solidarity with the Saharawi people along with Saharawi and French civil society associations organized Monday a demonstration in front of the headquarters of the French Foreign Ministry, during which demonstrators raised slogans demanding French government to stand by the international legitimacy and to stop supporting the Moroccan occupation of the territory of Western Sahara.

The participants condemned the policy of double Standard pursued by the French government regarding the issue of Western Sahara, which French rejection of the draft to expand the mandate of MINURSO to include human rights monitoring in Western Sahara is its recent example.
 .
 

They also request  the release of Saharawi political prisoners, especially Gdeim Izik group which will start an open hunger strike next Tuesday , as well as to assume  its it responsibility for prolonging the suffering of the divided Saharawi people between the refugee camps and the occupied territories .

The demonstration comes on the sidelines of the international week against colonialism, racism and the fortieth anniversary of the Declaration of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. SPS
