The Government decides to reduce visits of foreigners to refugee camps and liberated territories due to situation in Mali

 Shahid Al Hafed, January23, 2013 (SPS) - The Government of the Saharawi Arab Republic has decided to reduce visits of foreigners to the Saharawi refugee camps and liberated territories  "given to  the war situation in Mali and its possible negative impact  on security and stability in the region,” said Wednesday a press release issued by  the Ministry of Cooperation.
 

Gathering in Paris to demand release of Saharawi Political Prisoners

Copenhagen (Denmark) January23, 2013- member of the Danish Parliament (Folketinget), representing the Red-Green Alliance Party, Mr. Christian Juhl, on Wednesday, addressed interpellations to Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Villy Sovndal, related to the intention of the Moroccan government to present before a military Court the 24 Saharawi human rights activists know as Gdaim Izik Group, who have been imprisoned in Salé prison, according to the Polisario Representation in Copenhagen.
 

Resumption of visits between Saharawi families from Wednesday

Shahid Alhafed  (Saharawi refugee camps), January 22, 2012 (SPS) -  the resumption of   visits of Saharawi families  between the Occupied Territories and the Saharawi refugee camps,  will restart on Wednesday, Jan. 23, according to a statement from the Office of the  Saharawi coordinator with  the MINURSO.

 

The office indicated that the technical problems that prevented the functioning of the program last week have been surpassed and therefore, the program will continue in its natural form, the usual starting on Wednesday.
 

UN allocates financial assistance to Sahrawi refugees

New York, January 22, 2013 (SPS) The United Nations humanitarian chief Valerie Amos, on Monday  announced the allocation of some $100 million from an emergency account to boost operations in 12 poorly- funded crises including the Sahrawi refugees in the Tindouf camps (Algeria).
 

The UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) selected 12 countries on the basis of the severity of humanitarian need and an analysis of funding levels.  
 

Argentine Cathedral engaged in an international campaign of solidarity with Saharawi detainees in Moroccan prisons

BUENOS AIRES, January 22, 2013 (SPS) - The free cathedral of studies on Western Sahara at the National University of Argentina involvement in the international campaign for  supporting  the Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan prisons scheduled to begin from next Saturday, according to  Saharawi source  of the  Polisario representation in  Buenos Aires.
 

Austria calls for an end to the conflict of Western Sahara

Minister of Culture oversees inauguration on national Library

Shahid Alhafed (Saharawi refugee camps) January17,2013(SPS) the member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Minister of Culture,Khadija Hamdi, on Wednesday supervised the inauguration of the National library, a project  in collaboration between the Saharawi Ministry of Culture, the UNHCR and the Algerian Association  for  Media and communication among Youth.
   

SADR government voices concern over deteriorating situation in Mali

Bir Lehlou (liberated territories), Jan 12, 2012 (SPS) - Government of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) expressed Saturday “deep concern” over the deteriorating situation in the brotherly Republic of Mali, stressing, in a statement by its Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, the need to respect sovereignty and territorial integrity of Mali.


In a written statement a copy of it reached SPS, head of the Saharawi diplomacy reiterated SADR’s commitment to decisions of the African Union on this serious crisis.

President condoles Mauritanian counterpart on death of Senate head

President of Republic demands to stop unfair Moroccan military trial against Saharawi prisoners

Bir Lehlou (liberated territories), Jan 11, 2013 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the POLISARIO Front Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz urged, in a letter sent Thursday, the UN Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-moon to immediately intervene to stop the “serious” decision taken by Moroccan government to bring the Saharawi political prisoners of Gdeim izik to a military trial on February 1st.

French NGO calls on Hollande to address situation of Saharawi prisoners in Moroccan jails

Paris  (France) January10,2013(SPS) - Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic’s Friends Association (AARASD) called on French President François Hollande to address the situation of 23 political prisoners in the Moroccan jail of Sale, and whose trial, postponed twice, is to be held on February 1.
 

In an open letter to French head of State, the president of the AARASD, Regine Villemont, called on President Hollande to "pay attention" to the situation of 23 prisoners in Morocco jails since more than two years.
 

Member of European Parliament calls on Denmark to recognize SADR

Copenhagen (Denmark) January9, 2013(SPS) the Danish Member of the European Parliament Mr. Soren sondergaard, has called on Denmark to recognize Western Sahara as independent state, according to press release issued on Tuesday by Mr. Soren.
    

Soren Sondergaard calls on Denmark to follow the Swedish Parliament and recognize an independent Western Sahara.
 

Sondergaard, Member of the European Parliament for the Popular Movement, has just returned from a study tour to the Moroccan-occupied Western Sahara.

 

President of Republic concludes visit to Ghana
