Saharawi community in France commemorates 36th anniversary of SADR

Monte laJolie (France), March1, 2012 (SPS)  the Saharawi community in France celebrated Wednesday in Mount laJolie(France) , the 36th  anniversary of the proclamation of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in the presence of the Sahrawi human rights and former political prisoner, Mohamed Cheikh Elmoutawakil, according to a communiqué reached  SPS.

Caracas, Mar 1, 2012(SPS). - On the occasion of the 36th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) , the Municipal Council of Caracas, in collaboration  with the Saharawi Embassy and the Venezuelan Association of Friendship with the Sahara, organized, Wednesday,  various  events to commemorate this occasion, according to the SADR embassy in Caracas.

Moroccan brutal intervention against Saharawis in occupied city of Dakhla

 Dakhla (occupied territories) February29; 2012 (SPS). - The Moroccan occupation forces in the occupied city of Dakhla on Tuesday arrested several young Saharawi for participating in a peaceful demonstration demanding the   right of the Saharawi people for self-determination and chanting slogans against the Moroccan occupation.
 

Ghana reiterates its support to just struggle of Saharawi people

Accra, Feb. 29, 2012 (SPS) The leader of the parliamentary majority in Ghana, Cletus A. Avoka reiterated Wednesday his country's support to the struggle of the Saharawi people, after a meeting at the Parliament of Ghana with the Ambassador of the Saharawi Republic in Accra, Mahjoub Sidina.
 

"Traditionally, Ghana has always been at the side of peoples fighting for a just cause and in this case the Saharawi people is no exception," said the member of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Avoka.
 

President of Uruguay expresses firm position of his government in supporting Sahrawi struggle

FM receives congratulatory message from Cuban foreign Minister on occasion of SADR proclamation

 Shahid Alhafed, February28, 2012(SPS) the member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Salek, Monday, received a congratulatory message from his Cuban counterpart ,Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, on occasion of the 36th anniversary of proclamation of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic(SADR)
 

The Cuban Minister expressing congratulations and ratifying the strong will of his country to “continue strengthening the fraternal ties between our two countries” the message reads. (SPS)

Cuba reaffirms its support to Saharawi struggle for freedom and independence

Shahid Alhafed, February28, 2012(SPS) the President of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, Monday, reaffirmed unwavering position of his country in supporting the Saharawi struggle for freedom and independence.
 

In a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic, Mohamed Abdelaziz, on occasion of the 36th anniversary of SADR,   the Cuban President renewed “our will to continue supporting the just desire of independence and sovereignty of the brother Sahrawi people.”(SPS)
 

Khatri Adduh re-elected as speaker of the Parliament

Tifariti (liberated territories) February28, 2012(SPS) the Saharawi National Council(Parliament ) re-elected Monday in Tifariti , the member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Khatri Adduh, as speaker for the second term to this Saharawi legislative institution.
 

Khatri adduh, won the majority (69%) of the votes among two other candidates (Mhamed Khadad and Salem Lebsir) according to the requirements of the Constitution of SADR and the basic law of the Polisario Front.
 

Uruguay reaffirms support to the cause of Saharawi people

Montevideo (Uruguay), Feb 27, 2012 (SPS) - The Foreign Minister of Uruguay, Dr. Luis Almagro, reiterated his country's support to the Saharawi cause, after a reception organized Friday honoring the Saharawi Minister Responsible for Latin America, Mr. Mohamed Yeslem Beissat, said a officials source close to the Saharawi Embassy in Montevideo.

At the meeting, the Saharawi Minister thanked the Uruguayan Minister for his country's support to the Saharawi people and its cause and informed him about the latest developments of the Western Sahara issue.

Ninth round of negotiation between Polisario Front and Morocco on March 12-13 in Manhasset, declares UN

United Nations, Feb 27, 2012 (SPS) - The ninth round of the informal negotiations between the Polisario Front and Morocco will be held next March 12 to 13 in Manhasset, suburbs of New York, declared Friday the UN.

The meeting will take place in Manhasset again under supervision of the UN Secretary General’s Personal Envoy for Western Sahara, Mr. Christopher Ross, and in the presence of delegations of the two parties and representatives of the observing countries: Algeria and Mauritania.

Melbourne (Australia), Feb 27, 2012 (SPS) - The Saharawi flag raised today on the building of the municipality of Leichhardt in Sydney, Australia, and in other cities like Melbourne, Fremantle Town Hall and Newcastle Town Hall to mark the thirty-sixth anniversary of the Saharawi Republic proclamation.

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Mayor Rochelle Porteous, the Saharawi representative to Australia as well as members of the Australia Western Sahara Association (AWSA).

French solidarity caravan in Saharawi refugee camps 24-27 February

Algiers, Feb 23, 2012 (SPS)- A French caravan of solidarity with Saharawi people will stay in the Saharawi refugee camps from 24 to 27 February 2012, the National Committee for Solidarity with the Saharawi People (CNAPSPS) said Thursday in a statement.

The delegation whose visit will coincide with the commemoration of the 36th anniversary of SADR proclamation , comprises of 150 people "representing all components civil French society in," the source underlined.

Saheed Elhafed (Refugee Camps), Feb 22, 2012 (SPS) - Minister of Youth and Sport, Mr. Mohamed Mouloud Mohamed Fadel, said Wednesday that all circumstances is ready to launch the 12th edition of  Sahara Marathon and hosting participants from several countries.


 In press conference held at Ministry of Information, Mr. Mohamed Mouloud asserted that Sahara Marathon is an expression of solidarity with the Saharawi people and their just cause through sport.
