Seville (Spain), Feb 6, 2012 (SPS) - The Saharawi activist and President of the Collective of the Saharawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA), Ms. Aminatou Haidar, called Sunday on the U.S. and Europe to immediately intervene to halt the brutal repression experienced by the Moroccan state against the Saharawis in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.

Shaheed Al Hafed (refugee camps), Feb 6, 2012 (SPS) - “The kidnapping of the Italian national, Ms. Rossella Urru, will not stop the Italian support and solidarity to the Saharawi cause and refugees,” stated Ms. Sara Malvagi, who arrived Sunday accompanying by a delegation in the Saharawi refugee camps.

Ms. Malvagi expressed solidarity and sympathy with families of the three hostages, stressing on the need to exert much pressure on the international community at the political and diplomatic levels for their release.

Seville (Spain), Feb 4, 2012 (SPS) - At the invitation of the Spanish Socialist Party, the President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, has took part in the opening ceremony of the Party’s 38th Congress.

The Congress opening was attended by more than 1000 delegates from various Spanish cities and more than 100 guests, including representatives of socialist parties in the world, led the Socialist International, which the Frente Polisario has an observer status in it.

Polisario Front calls for an end to fish plunder in Western Sahara

Brussels, February 2, 2012 (SPS)- Minister delegate in Charge of Europe, Mr.Mohamed Sidati, has written to EU member states about the proposed new protocol to the EU-Morocco Fisheries Agreement, after a draft negotiating mandate proposed by the European Commission and the Danish EU Presidency failed to garner the support of the qualified majority required; the proposed mandate is now scheduled to be considered by COREPER on 3 February 2012.

Bir Lehlu (Liberated Territories), Feb 2, 2012 (SPS) - President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, will open the works of 37th European Coordination Conference of Support to the Sahrawi People, EUCOCO, to be held February 3 to 5 in Seville, Spain, with the participation of delegations from twenty countries and representatives of EU Parliament, UN and African Union, Ministry of Information reported Thursday.

 

Ambassador Brahim Gali condoles family of Abdelhamid Mehri

Bir Lehlu (Liberated Territories), Feb 2, 2012 (SPS) - Member of the National Secretariat and Ambassador to Algeria, Mr. Brahim Gali has sent on Tuesday a message of condolence to family of  former SG of the Algerian National Liberation (FLN), Abdelhamid Mehri, died Monday at the age 85.


"The death of Abdelhamid Mehri is not only a loss to Algeria, but also for all people who adore peace and freedom," Mr. Brahim Ghali wrote in his condolence message.
