Frente Polisario reaffirms continuation to cooperate with UN efforts despite Rabat intransigence

Shaheed Al Hafed (refugee camps), March 19, 2012 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Frente Polisario, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, reaffirmed continuation of the POLISARIO to cooperate with efforts of the United Nations to enable the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination and independence, highlighting the positive reply of the POISARIO to UN Secretary General demand to continue negotiations under supervision of his Personal Envoy, although no progress has been achieved due to Rabat intransigence and obstruction.

Shaheed Al hafed (refugee camps), March 18, 2012 (SPS) - “We did not record any remarkable progress in the negotiations with the new Moroccan Government on a just and fair settlement to the conflict of Western Sahara in the context of the exercise of the Saharawi people to the right of self-determination due to Rabat intransigence,” Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Frente Polisario, underlined in an interview with Radio Algeria International broadcasted today.

Peaceful Demonstration in several Saharawi occupied territories

El Aaiun (occupied territories), March 19, 2012 (SPS) - A number of Saharawi citizens staged Sunday in streets of the occupied city of El Aaiun to demand right of the Saharawi people to self-determination, informed a source of the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.

The demonstrators chanted a political slogans calling for the independence of Western Sahara, and expressing solidarity with the Saharawi political detainees in the prisons of Morocco.

The session is the first after its inauguration following the 13th Congress of the Frente Polisario.

Arrest and confiscating documents of Saharawi activists at Moroccan checkpoint in occupied El Aaiun

El Aaiun (occupied territories), March 17, 2012 (SPS) - The Moroccan occupation police arrested and confiscated Friday documents of three Saharawi activists of human rights at a Moroccan security checkpoint at the eastern entrance of occupied El Aaiun, capital of Western Sahara, coming from Al-Khat Valley, according to a source of the Ministry of the Occupied Territory and Communities Abroad.

Municipality of Bilbao approves solidarity motion with the Saharawi political prisoners

Basque (Spain), March 17, 2012 (SPS) - The Basque Municipality of Bilbao approved Friday a range of motions of solidarity with the Saharawi cause and political prisoners, in the context of widening of the solidarity movement with the Saharawi people along Spain.

The Municipality denounced the systematic abuses to human rights and fundamental rights of the Saharawi civilians in the occupied Western Sahara, calling for releasing all the Saharawi political detainees as to unveil fate of the disappeared.

Peaceful demonstration in Boujdur city against Moroccan occupation

Boujdur(occupied territories) March15,2012(SPS) the Saharawi citizens in the occupied city of Boujdur , Tuesday  organized a peaceful demonstration  to denounce Moroccan violations of human rights and to solidarity with the  Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan jails, according to the  Saharawi Ministry of  the occupied territories and communities.
  

The demonstrators raised Saharawi flags and slogans demanding the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination and independence and the release of all Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan prisons.

Polisario-Morocco: Informal meeting ends without significant progress, next rounds in June and July

MANHASSET (NEW YORK)- March 14,2012(SPS)  The ninth round of informal talks between the Polisario Front and Morocco wrapped up Tuesday evening in Manhasset, New York, without any significant progress in the negotiations between the two parties, to meet in June and July for other new informal rounds.

The UN Secretary General’s personal envoy, Christopher Ross said Tuesday evening in a communiqué that the informal meeting between the two parties took place in “an atmosphere of serious engagement, frankness, and mutual respect.”

Saharawi Republic participate as an observer in the legislative elections of El Salvador

Managua (El Salvador), March 11, 2012 (SPS) - The Ambassador of the Saharawi Republic (SADR) to Nicaragua, Mr. Suleiman Tayeb Hennan, has been invited by the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN) to participate as an observer in the legislative and municipal elections of El Salvador to be held today, according to a statement of the Saharawi Embassy in Nicaragua reached SPS.

People of El Salvador will elect 262 mayors and representatives of local councils, 84 of them will be named as MPs in the Legislative body during the years 2012 to 2015.

British Association concludes solidarity visit to the Saharawi refugee camps
