Shaheed El Hafed, April 07, 2024 (SPS) - The Council of Ministers  denounced the announcement of the French government of its intention to participate in the plunder of Sahrawi natural resources, which reflects the French state's involvement in the aggression against the Sahrawi people since the military invasion of Western Sahara in 1975.

Shaheed El Hafed, April 7, 2024 (SPS) - The Council of Ministers strongly condemned the position expressed by the occupying state following its recent reception of Mr. Staffan de Mistura, in which it renewed its evasion of the commitments it signed with the Sahrawi party in 1991 within the settlement plan aimed at resolving the colonial issue in Western Sahara through the exercise of the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination via the referendum organized by the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO).

Shaheed El Hafed, April 7, 2024 (SPS) - President of the Republic , Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, chaired Sunday a meeting of the Council of Ministers to approve draft laws and bilateral agreements.

During the meeting, the council of ministers  reviewed a proposed amendment to the law on individuals and public employment, as well as international treaties and bilateral agreements, all of which were adopted after discussion and enrichment, according to a statement issued at the end of the meeting.

Sahrawi government strongly denounces France's intention to invest in and finance projects in occupied Sahrawi territories

Bir Lahlou, April 6, 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi government has firmly denounced France's intention to invest in and finance projects in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, stating that this move represents explicit support for the illegal Moroccan occupation of certain parts of the Sahrawi national territory and a flagrant violation of international law and France's international obligations.

UN envoy for Western Sahara received by Mauritanian president in Nouakchott

Nouakchott (Mauritania), April 04, 2024 (SPS) - Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Sheikh El Ghazouani received on Wednesday the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Western Sahara, Staffan de Mistura, according to the Mauritanian News Agency.

The meeting was attended by the Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Diay, Mr. Ahmed Bahin, in charge of a mission at the Presidency of the Republic, and the UN Resident Coordinator in Mauritania, Ms. Leila Peters Yahya, according to the same source.

Sahrawi civil prisoner on hunger strike

Occupied El-Aaiún, 3 April 2024 (SPS) - The Moroccan occupation continues its serious violations against Sahrawi civil prisoners by intensifying retaliatory measures against them, pushing them to engage in hunger strikes that endanger their lives, such as the case of the civil prisoner Abd al-Moula Mohamed Al-Hafed.

Abd al-Moula Mohamed Al-Hafed has been on an open hunger strike since the first of April, protesting against ill-treatment, according to a Sahrawi human rights source, citing the prisoner's sister.

Security Council to hold consultations on MINURSO from 16 April

New York, 2 April 2024 (SPS) - The UN Security Council will hold on 16 April closed consultations on the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), including briefings by Special Representative for Western Sahara and Head of MINURSO, Alexander Ivanko, and the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy, Staffan De Mistura.

This session is being held in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2703, adopted on 30 October 2023, renewing MINURSO's mandate for a supplementary year, until 31 October 2024.

Polisario warns  Spanish company against violating international law in Western Sahara

Madrid, 2 April 2024 (SPS) - The representative of the Polisario Front in Spain, Abdulah Arabi, has warned the Spanish public company responsible for air navigation management, ENAIRE E.P.E., against violating international law in Western Sahara through the use of a false map.

In a letter addressed to the president of the Spanish company, Mr. Arabi emphasized that the disregard for the distinct and separate status of Western Sahara from Moroccan territory in the maps used in its applications constitutes a violation of international law.

Two Swedish activists travel around world to shed light on Sahrawi issue

Lombardy (Italy), April 01, 2024 (SPS) - Swedish activists Sanaa Chotbe and Benjamin Ladraa continue their journey around the world on bicycles, aiming to shed light on the struggle of the Sahrawi people and their just cause.

The activists decided to undertake this humanitarian project and cover a distance of 30,000 kilometers across 30 countries in the world to raise awareness and understanding of the Sahrawi issue.

Public Health Minister receives director of vaccination at Algerian Ministry of Health

The meeting discussed the bilateral relations between the two ministries in many common health topics, most notably the field of vaccination, training, development of health programs and their comprehensiveness.

Ambassador to Algeria receives delegation from Algerian Guidance and Reform Association

Algeria, March 28, 2024 (SPS) - Member of the National Secretariat, Ambassador to Algeria, Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar, received a delegation from the Algerian Guidance and Reform Association led by Mr. Mahdi Bouhajar, Vice President of the Association, which is one of the Algerian associations working in the humanitarian field for more than 33 years. This association has previously provided humanitarian aid to the Sahrawi people.
