President Brahim Gali chairs POLISARIO´PB extraordinary meeting following the physical loss of Mhamad Jadad

Chahid El Hafed, April 1, 2020 (SPS) -The President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Gali, has chaired an extraordinary meeting of the Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of POLISARIO after learning of the sad news of the death of Mhamad Jadad.
During the meeting, President Brahim Gali has expressed his condolences to all the Saharawi people and to the family of the deceased, praising the role he has played in defending the cause of his people.

Bir Lehlu (Liberated Territories), April 1, 2020 (SPS) -The Government of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic has decreed seven-day official mourning following the physical loss of the member of the National Secretariat Frente POLISARIO (head of international relations) and coordinator with the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), Mhamad Jadad, who died on Wednesday after a hard battle with a terminal illness.

Chahid El Hafed, April 01, 2020 (SPS) - the member of the National Secretariat of Frente POLISARIO, the Sahrawi coordinator with the MINURSO mission and the Chairman of the external relations in the National Secretariat of Frente POLISARIO, Mr. Emhamed Khadad, passed away Wednesday after a long struggle with the disease, according to statement of the government spokesman and Minister of Information Mr. Hamada Salma.

Public Health Ministry commends Sahrawi doctor´ efforts in their International day

Madrid (Spain), April 01, 2020 (SPS) - The Saharawi representative to Spain, Abdulah Arabi, has expressed the maximum opposition of the Frente POLISARIO to the unilateral approval or publication of  Moroccan new laws of  territorial waters in its official, directly transgressing the borders of Western Sahara and Spain.
Abdulah Arabi has warned that "the unilateral approval or publication in its official bulletin by Morocco does not change the political and legal nature of Western Sahara."

UN calls on governments to release prisoners to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe due to Coronavirus

Geneva (Switzerland) March 26, 2020 (SPS) - UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet has called on governments to take urgent action to protect the health and safety of people in detention and other closed facilities, as part of overall efforts to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Covid-19 has begun to strike prisons, jails and immigration detention centres, as well as residential care homes and psychiatric hospitals, and risks rampaging through such institutions’ extremely vulnerable populations,” said Bachelet.

ICRC & UN are called to save lives of Sahrawi civilian prisoners in Moroccan prisons from Corona pandemic

Paris (France) March 24, 2020 (SPS) - The French Friendship and Solidarity Association with the Peoples of Africa, has appealed the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations to intervene with the Moroccan authorities to assess the health status of civilian prisoners, the Gdeim Izik group.
The French Association has also called upon the said international NGOs to take the necessary measures to release them in order to avoid a humanity catastrophe, especially in the terrible spread of the Corona pandemic in various countries.

The President of the Republic, who was accompanied by the Minister of Public Health, , Mrs. Jira Bulahi, along with seniors officials of her Ministry, including doctors and specialists, has reviewed these centers and their readiness to receive the arrivals.

No Coronavirus cases confirmed at Saharawi Refugee Camps NCMP (COVID-19)
