Shaheed El Hafed, 12 April 2020 (SPS) - An organization called the daughters of Saguia Elhamra and Rio de Oro will conduct a campaign for the immediate release of the Sahrawi political prisoners in the Moroccan jails amidst the spread of the pandemic of Covid-19.
This organization expressed its deep concern over the terrible situation affecting the Sahrawi political prisoners detained illegally in Moroccan prisons amidst the spread of the pandemic of Covid-19.

New York (United Nations), 12 April 2020 (SPS) – Russia reaffirmed, in the Security Council meeting, that any solution to the conflict in Western Sahara must respect the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination and the UN Charter.
The Russian mission to the UN stressed, in a tweet on its official account after the Thursday meeting of the UN Security Council on Western Sahara, that any solution to this conflict must respect the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and the United Nations Charter.

Sydney, 11 April 2020 (SPS) -   the Australia Western Sahara Association (AWSA) has sought the intervention of the United Nations with the Moroccan authorities for the release of Saharawi political prisoners, recalling they are being one of the groups most at risk of infection with Covid19, in a message to United Nations Secretary General, Mr. Antonio Guterres.

Brussels, 11 April 2020 - President of the Belgian Support Committee for the Sahrawi people, Pierre Galand, has called on the authorities of his country to intervene with Morocco for the release of Sahrawi political prisoners,
Pierre Galand, also president of the European Conference of Support and Solidarity with the Sahrawi people (EUCOCO), in a letter sent Friday to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense of the Kingdom of Belgium, Philippe Goffin, called for the immediate release of the Sahrawi political prisoners jailed in Moroccan prisons.

New York (United Nations) 10 April 2020 (SPS)- The Russian Mission to the UN published a Tweet on its official Twitter Account yesterday after a closed meeting by the UN Security Council on Western Sahara, stressing that any solution to this conflict must respect Saharawi people’s right to self-determination and UN Charter.

Brussels, April 09, 2020 (SPS) -  The Representation of Frente POLISARIO to Europe has called upon the NGO amnesty international office in Brussels to urge the council and commission of the European Union to intervene to protect the safety of all Saharawi political prisoners held illegally in Moroccan jails, outlining that Beyond the immediate release of them, these prisoners need urgent protection from the COVID-19 virus.

Chahid El Hafed , April 07, 2020 (SPS) -. The Saharawi National Commission that oversees Holidays in Peace announced on Monday the suspension of the program for the summer of 2020.
The commission, in a statement, which SPS obtained a copy of it, "reported that it had decided to suspend the Vacations in Peace Program for the summer of 2020 due to the circumstance that the world is experiencing as a result of the spread of the COVD 19 pandemic.

New York, 6 April 2020 (SPS) - Polisario Front representative at the United Nations, Dr. Sidi Mohamed Omar, on Monday indicated that the Security Council meeting scheduled for Thursday on developments in Western Sahara should be an opportunity for its members to address several issues, including the delay in the appointment of a new UN envoy and mechanisms for responding to the opening of consulates in the occupied Sahrawi territories.

Brussels, 05 April 2020 (SPS) - In a letter addressed to Human Rights Watch’s Brussels office, the Frente POLISARIO Representation to the EU expresses its deep concern about the appalling situation afflicting the Sahrawi political prisoners held illegally in Morocco jails amidst the growing COVID-19 pandemic.

Nouakchott, 5 April 2020 (SPS) -  The Mauritanian political party, Rally of Democratic Forces (RFD) has expressed condolences to the Sahrawi people and the family of the deceased leader, Emhamed Khaddad, who died on Wednesday after a long illness.
"We received with great sadness and sorrow the news of the passing of the great late Emhamed Khaddad Moussa," said the Mauritanian party in a message of condolence addressed to President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali.
