National Human Rights Commission signs agreement with CNCPPDH

Algiers, Oct 30, 2014 (SPS) - The Saharawi National Commission for Human Rights and the Algerian National Consultative Commission for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights (CNCPPDH) on Wednesday inked an agreement on cooperation.


Signed in Algiers, the agreements provides for the exchange of experiences and cooperation between the Frente Polisario and Algeria in defending and promoting human rights.

President of Republic offers condolences to Acting President of Zambia

Cooperation Minister meets with Murcia University’s General Director

Murcia (Spain), Oct 29, 2014 (SPS) - The Minister of Cooperation, Brahim Mojtar, on Tuesday met with the General Director of the University of Murcia, Luis Javier Lozano, to examine the agreement recently signed between the University of Murcia and Polytechnical University of Cartagena and the Saharawi University of Tifariti.


The meeting also focused on the situation in the Saharawi refugee camps and the occupied territories of Western Sahara.


It was attended by Frente Front’s Representative in the Region of Murcia, Mohamed Labat.

President receives congratulatory cable from Algerian counterpart

Bir Lehlou (liberated zones), Oct 28, 2014 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, on Monday sent a message of congratulation to the re-elected President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Ms. Dilma Rousseff.


President Mohamed Abdelaziz expressed, on behalf of the Saharawi people and Government, his “warmest felicitations and best wishes of success” to President Rousseff in steering the wheel of the ship of Brazil.

PM supervises closing of 13th concertation and coordination table on health

Dilma Rousseff re-elected to second term in office

Brasilia, Oct 27, 2014 (SPS) - President of Brazil, Ms. Dilma Rousseff, has been re-elected to a second term in office ending in 2018.


Ms. Rousseff won the presidential elections in Brazil with 51.45 percent of the general number of voters, while the Social-Democrat candidate Aécio Neves got 48.55% of the vote.


In a speech delivered following poll win, the re-elected President of Brazil pledged to make the big changes the Brazilian society requires, according to Prensa Latina.

MDM 9th Congress pays homage to struggle of Saharawi woman

Lisbon, Oct 27, 2014 (SPS) - The ninth congress of the Women’s Democratic Movement in Portugal (MDM) on Sunday paid tribute to the struggle of Saharawi woman, voicing support to just struggle of the Saharawi people for self-determination through fair and impartial referendum, under aegis of the United Nations.


In the final communiqué of its 9th congress, MDM denounced the illegal occupation of Western Sahara and the gross violations of human rights being carried out against the Saharawis by Moroccan regime.

Saharawi parliamentary delegation inspects representations in Europe

Spain, Oct 27, 2014 (SPS) - A delegation of the Saharawi National Council (Parliament) is now making an inspection visit to various Polisario Front’s representations in Europe, as part of the evaluation of the Government Programme for the year 2014.


The aim through this inspection process is to assess what has already been achieved of the 2014 Government Programme, and to take down the concerns and proposals so to preparing the next Government’s Programme.

Namibian President for implementing all UN resolutions on Western Sahara

Union of Saharawi Women takes part in 9th Congress of Women's Democratic Movement in Portugal

Lisbon,October 26, 2014 (SPS) - A delegation led by the General Secretary of the National Union of Saharawi Women, Fatma  Mehdi, companied by the Polisario Front representative in Lisbon, Ahmed Fal M'hamed, will participate Sunday in the 9th Congress of the Women's Democratic Movement in Portugal (MDM).

 

The delegation which started Friday a working visit to Portugal, at the invitation of the MDM, will have several meetings with Portuguese organizations about the latest developments on the question of Western Sahara.

 

Egyptian delegation starts visit in Saharawi refugee camps

 Shaheed Elhafed, October 25, 2014 (SPS) – An Egyptian delegation started Friday a visit in the Saharawi refugee camps, where he will meet Sahrawi officials and visit facilities in the institutions and Wilayas.

 

 The Egyptian delegation will visit the Wilayas of Smara and Boujdour where public meetings will be organized by the governors.

 

Saharawi refugee camps host concertation table on health

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Oct 26, 2014 (SPS) - The 13th edition of the concertation and coordination table on health sector on Saturday kicked off in Chahid Al Hafed, Saharawi refugee camps.


The two-day event is jointly organized by the Saharawi Health Ministry and some other international donor organizations working in the camps.

Commencement of political conferences for election of secretaries of local and primary branches

Shaheed Elhafed, October 25, 2014 (SPS) – The political conferences for the election of thesecretaries of the local and primary branches for the year 2014 kicked off Saturday in all constituencies and municipalities in the Sahrawi refugee camps.

 

The political conferencesaim at strengthening and activating the performance of the branches and bodies of political organization and involving the population in the camps in the renewal of structures and choosing their political leader on the basis of efficiency.

  

Documentary "Raíces y Clamor" exhibited in British House of Commons

The event which takes place at 18:00 is organized by International Organization "Liberation", and directed by Sahrawi Ebbaba Hameida Hafed who is accompanied by Maggie Bowden, General Secretary of International Organization "Liberation".
