POLISARIO representative to Balkan attends a seminar on peace in Slovenia

Ljubljana, May 19, 2012 (SPS) - At the invitation of Maribor Mayor, the POLISARIO Representative to Balkan region, Mr. Malainin Bagada, attended Thursday a seminar held in the city of Maribor, Slovenia, on the sidelines of the activities and festivities taking place in the city, which is the European Capital of Culture for 2012.


The seminar attended also by a number of Noble Peace Prize laureates such as Professor Muhammad Yunus from Bangladesh, Ms. Rigoberta Menchú from Guatemala and a laureate from Slovenia, who focused on the importance of dialogue as a mechanism in the international crisis.


It was also attended by Maribor Mayor, Mr. Franc Kangler, the diplomatic corps accredited in Slovenia as well as a number of cultural and political dignitaries representing various Slovenian institutions.


The seminar was an opportunity for the Saharawi Representative to held talks with some personalities including Ms. Rigoberta Menchú, where he handed her an invitation letter from the Secretary General of Saharawi Women Union to attend 40th anniversary of the proclamation of POLISARIO Front to be celebrated next year.


Speaking during the seminar, Peace Laureate pointed to the terrorism committed by Moroccan state against the Saharawi women and human rights violation perpetuated on the Saharawi citizens, expressing sympathy with the cause of the Saharawi people.


“Personally, I do not know much about the Saharawi people, but when I visit them and live with them, I am sure they will remain in my heart,” said Ms. Menchú. (SPS)
