President of Republic holds several meetings in Accra

Accra, August 12, 2012 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, has held several meetings in Accra, capital of Ghana, with heads of states and governments attending the funeral ceremony of the late Ghanaian President John Atta Mills took place Friday.

Accra, August 11, 2012 (SPS) - The Saharawi President, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, took part Friday in the state funeral of former Ghanaian President John Atta Mills, who died suddenly on July 24, along with several heads of states and government as well as other foreign dignitaries and diplomatic corps accredited in Accra.

Shaheed Al Hafed (refugee camps), August 10, 2012 (SPS) - Head of the Liaison Office of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) in Tindouf, the Sudanese Omar Bashir Manis, considered Wednesday that there is no reason for the UN to evacuate its foreign aid workers from the Saharawi refugee camps, during a meeting with Spanish aid workers visiting the Saharawi refugee camps.

Accra, August 09, 2012(SPS) - President of  Republic and Secretary General of  the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz arrived today  in Accra at the invitation of President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama to take part at  the funeral ceremony of the late President Professor John Evans Atta Mills.


President of the Republic was received at the Accra's Kuame Nkrumah Airport by a ministerial delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ghana, Mr. El Haj Mohamed Moumouni.

The ceremony was attended by State senior officials, members of the government and Spanish aid workers delegation.

Spanish delegation starts solidarity visit to Sahrawi refugee camps

Madrid, August7,2012(SPS)  - A Spanish delegation led by President of the Spanish coordination of associations in solidarity with Western Sahara (CEAS) José Taboada startes  Tuesday a visit of solidarity to Sahrawi refugee camps.

The purpose of this four-day visit consists to reaffirm the solidarity with the Sahrawi people after the repatriation last 27 July of Spanish aid workers working in the Sahrawi refugee camps.

Cantabria ONG regrets Spanish aid workers’ withdrawal from Saharawi refugee camps

Basque, July 4, 2012 (SPS) - Demonstrations denouncing Spanish Government’s decision to bring home the aid workers form the Saharawi refugee camps held Friday in Basque Country, Spain, in solidarity with the Saharawi people and with their right to self-determination.


The demonstrations organized in the cities of Bilbao, Vitoria and San Sebastián.
In Bilbao, a group of Saharawis, sympathizers and representatives of 13 Basque municipalities staged outside the Spanish Representation.

Association calls on French Government to defend UN resolutions on Western Sahara

Paris, August 4, 2012 (SPS) - The French Association of Friends of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (AARASD) has called on France’s Government, which chaired Security Council current Aug, to defend the United Nations resolutions on Western Sahara, recalling in a statement published last week to the position expressed by France’s Foreign Minister during his recent visit to Algeria.

Socialist International Africa Committee reaffirms support to right of Saharawi people to self-determination

Braia (Cape Verde), 03 August, 2012 (SPS) - The Socialist International Africa Committee reaffirmed the support of the Socialist International (SI) to the right of the Saharawi people to self determination, during its meeting held on 30 and 31 July in Praia, Cape Verde.

 

The committee urged Morocco and the Polisario Front to continue direct negotiations under the UN auspices, reiterating its support for the efforts of UN Secretary General and his Personal Envoy to achieve "a peaceful and lasting solution to the conflict".
