Accra, August 09, 2012(SPS) - President of Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz arrived today in Accra at the invitation of President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama to take part at the funeral ceremony of the late President Professor John Evans Atta Mills.
President of the Republic was received at the Accra's Kuame Nkrumah Airport by a ministerial delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ghana, Mr. El Haj Mohamed Moumouni.
"We came here to express our heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Ghana and make our brotherly firm support in this difficult time," President Mohamed Abdelaziz to Ghanaian national television.
"The late President John Atta Mills is one of the great men of Africa who dedicated his life for Ghana and for all peoples of Africa as a whole. We lost a great leader and a great friend of the Sahrawi people in particular. May God rest his soul," added the Saharawi President.
According to the Ghanaian constitution, the country’s vice-president Mahama has been sworn as the President and will hold office until the country's scheduled presidential elections which are due in December.
About 16 World Leaders, including Heads of State and Government Officials today confirmed their participation in the three-day funeral of President John Evans Atta Mills, reported the official website of Ghana government.
President of Republic accompanied to Accra by a delegation comprises Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Owld Slaek, State Minister, Bachir Mostafa Sayed, Secretary General of the National Union of Women, Fatma Lmehdi, Minister of Cooperation, Hadj Ahmed, Minister of Africa, Brahim Mukhtar and Conculer at the Presidency, Abdati Breika.
