President of Republic calls on Parliaments of European Countries to recognize SADR

Shahid Alhafed, December13, 2012(SPS) President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, called on the Parliaments of the European Countries to recognize the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) as the Swedish Parliament already did. 
  

In interview with the Algerian Radio on Thursday, President considered the Swedish Parliament’s decision as “an important step and a very strong message to the Moroccan government and to the entire international community,”
 

Secretariat of political branches of Polisario Front recorded satisfaction to national outcome in2012

Algerian-Sahrawi parliamentary committee of friendship and brotherhood installed

Algiers, December13, 2012(SPS) - The Algerian-Sahrawi parliamentary committee of friendship and brotherhood has been installed Wednesday at the Algerian People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament) in presence of many PMs.
 

Saida Bounab, deputy from the National Liberation Front (FLN), has been appointed as t the head of the committee.

Shahid AlHafed, December 11, 2012 (SPS) President of the Republic , Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, said Monday that "efforts should lead to the usual presence of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic in the United Nations, "in an interview broadcasted  on Tuesday  by the Algerian channel Echourouq.
 

Saharawi people’s hardships highlighted at Algiers International Film Festival

Algiers ,December11,2012(SPS) - Feature film Wilaya, by Spanish director Pedro Perez Rosado, co-produced by Spain and the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), was screened Sunday in Algiers.
 

Competing in the fiction feature film section at the International Film Festival of Algiers (FICA), the production filmed in the Sahrawi refugee camps of Tindouf (Algeria’s southwest) is the first fiction to involve the Sahrawi ministry of Culture as co-producer.

 At a conference on human rights in Western Sahara organized by the Association of Families of Saharawi Prisoners and Disappeared (AFAPREDESA) and National Union of Saharawi Women (UNMS) with the participation Belgium association.

 

International conference on peoples’ right to resistance, December 15bth- 16th in Algiers

Algiers, Dec 10, 2012 (SPS) - The third international conference on “the right of peoples to resistance: the case of the Saharawi people” will be held on 15th and 16th December 2012 in Algiers, announced Sunday the Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with the Saharawi people (CNASPS).


The conference will be attended by Algerian and international figures, as well as Saharawi activists of human rights from the occupied Saharawi territories and observers accompanying the rights delegation, indicated the source.

Sale (Morocco), Dec 9, 2012 (SPS) - The Saharawi political prisons, currently incarcerated in Morocco’s prison of Sale 2, appealed to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to open “an independent investigation” to the Moroccan forces’ attack on Gdeim Izik protest camp on November 2010, in a letter marking the 64th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

WSRW asks TOTAL to reconsider its licence in occupied Western Sahara

London, Dec 9, 2012 (SPS) - Western Sahara Resource Watch appealed Saturday to the French corporation TOTAL to reconsider signing a contract with Morocco involving oil exploration activities in the occupied Saharawi territories.


In a letter sent to TOTAL, Western Sahara Resource Watch Chair Mr. Erik Hagen voiced “high concern” over the renewal of TOTAL’s exploration licence in occupied Western Sahara.

Coordination of Gdeim Izik informs US delegation of deteriorating human rights situation in occupied Western Sahara

Al-Aiun (occupied territories), Dec 08, 2012 (SPS) -Coordination of Gdeim Izik has informed US media delegation of the cruel conditions living by the Saharawis in occupied territories, politically, socially and economically.

 

The US media delegation comprises representatives of International Women's Media Foundation and journalists from US channels, have heard the testimonies about the gross human rights violations perpetrated by Moroccan authorities of occupation  in occupied Western Sahara.

 

French associations denounce illegal presence of company Total in Western Sahara

Paris, Dec 08, 2012 (SPS) -Several associations, trade unions and French political parties, denounced Friday the contract signed by the company Total and Morocco for oil exploration in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.

 

In a statement, associations, trade unions and political parties asked French Total “to reconsider immediately its presence in this territory."

 

They also recalled the situation colony of Western Sahara by Morocco partially occupied militarily for 37 years.

 

SADR protests Total operations in occupied western Sahara

Shahid Alhafed, Dicember07, 2012(SPS) the government of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic, on Wednesday, asked the French Company (Total) to stay away from any exploitation in the occupied Western Sahara without the approval of [the Saharawi] government, as explained in a letter sent by Mhamed Khadad , member of the Polisario leadership and advisor to the SADR President Mohamed Abdelaziz  , to Total's Chief Executive Officer, Christophe de Margerie.   
 

Sahrawi government praises decision of Swedish Parliament to recognize SADR

Stockholm (Sweden) Dicember06, 2012(SPS) the parliament of Sweden has urged its government to urgently recognize the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), in a resolution adopted on Wednesday by the Majority of this Swedish legislative institution.

The parliament has adopted this resolution which offered by the Committee of Foreign affairs and the Parliament devoted a special meeting to study and adopt this resolution.

Conference in Swedish Parliament on looting natural resources of Western Sahara

Stockholm (Sweden) Dicember5, 2012(SPS) a conference held in the Swedish Parliament on last Tuesday, focused on the looting of Western Sahara’s natural resources and illegal exploitation of these resources by Moroccan occupation, according to the Polisario Representation  in Sweden.   
      

The conferences was attended by politicians and representatives of several Swedish parties in addition to president of the foreign affairs committee in the Swedish Parliament, Orban Ahline .   
 

(Tunisia supports international legitimacy to solve Western Sahara cause) TunisiaPM

Algiers, Dicember4, 2012(SPS) the PM of Tunisia, Mr. Hamadi Jebali, Monday, confirmed that his country “supports the implementation of international legitimacy to resolve the issue of Western Sahara” according to a press release from the Algerian Parliament.
 

The Tunisian PM who is in a visit to Algeria expressed this position followed his meeting with head of the Algerian Parliament, Dr. Mohamed Larbi Ould Khélifa, held in Algiers.
